3-5-2 is so successful in Europe lets do it. Or better lets hire Conte.
Boo hoooo Conte didn't win the CL with Asa and Licht as wingbacks and no real counter attacking threat up front, and therefore it's not possible to win in europe with a back three

You know a back three formation can be attacking right? It's more about the right approach. On top of it it would suit the type of players we have in the team.

But whatever. We play such great football, why change.

1. Sarri would never play a back three formation. And I hope Sarri stays next year too, because Sarri gone it would mean only one thing (we’d failed this season.
2. Playing with three at the back means sacrificing a midfielder or a striker for a CB. How’s that more offensive?
3. Since we dont have great B2B players as we had back then Pogba and Vidal our attack would rely on Cuadrado and Alex Sandro which is does not look so great.
4. 3cb back line definitely offers more security but it backfires if we’re chasing result.

I do hope we sign some better wingers, proper RB and a B2B in the summer.

My picks
Chiesa, SMS and Hysaj (because his market value is very low).

redpill: formations matter fuck all - it's a meme from computer games and people who want to appear smart

only player quality, grinta, and team cohesion matter
Formations matter for shitty teams. In theory, if you have quality world class players in every position, you should be able to comfortably dispatch your opponents, especially significantly inferior opposition.

After 3/4th of the season, he still hasnt found his ideal setup.
There's always next year :D :baus:

Thank you Mister. Grazie for making Ronaldo score and Dybala make that sublime pass to Ramsey. We couldn't have done it without you. Mucho Cojones :jack::berna::sarrismo:

3 CBs might be viable if we face someone like ManCity or Barca who can get out of our press with their eyes closed. But against teams like Lyon or Inter its just making their lives easier to shithouse their way to a draw/ugly win

So what you're saying is the squad from five year ago is not the same squad as today? Absolutely shocking
While back then it was more reasonable to use it as we had BBBC still at a very high level and few quality forwards, people wanted Max to ditch it regardless because our game looked bad and everyone wanted an extra attacker instead of a cb. We switched to 4312 and beat Parma 7:1.
While playing possession football in 352 lcb and rcb build from the back. How many times we had to see Chiellini playing long balls or bursting forward because there was no other option available? Do we want to witness that again? Personally, I'd rather have Sandro and Danilo in those positions AND the additional forward (instead of an extra cb in 352) to drop back once in a while to help moving the ball closer to opposition penalty area where the two remaining forwards await.
352 might be good to soak the pressure but it's no where near good for possession football. Inevitably a team ends up playing with 5 defenders.

The king of possession football uses 3-5-2 at times. Actually even used it quite frequently during his time at Bayern. The best pressing team in Italy in Atalanta play three at the back, do they resemble you of Conte's Juve? Formations don't determine ones style of play.

3-something-something would make sense for us when our midfielders are in useless form.

conte switched to 3-5-2 because he wanted to field his best players: bbc + mvp determined the formation. the same could go to current juve too: it's hard to bench either of mdl, bonbon and chiellini, and we can barely field 3 in-form cm's, so i'd try 3-4-3 with only 2 cm's, mds + sandro as wingbacks, plus this weekend's attacking trio. even a 3-5-2 with cuadrado and sandro as wingbacks, and dybala+cr up front could look solid.

anyway, if sarri can keep the 4-3-3 working with cuadrado, i'm fine with that, too. just don't play pjanic until he's fine again, and don't overuse bonucci.
