In 1985 when we won the European Cup, we had a pretty bad league campaign where we finished 6th and would have been out of Europe had we not won the European Cup (to go through as holders). I don’t remember if it was Platini or Trapattoni who claimed that it would be a great year if we finished one place above the relegation zone and still won the European cup!

who was our worst manager of the last 20 years???

1. Del Neri
2. Sarri
3. Zaccheroni
4. Ranieri
5. Maifredi
....
Maifredi? He coached us back in 1990, bud. Your timeline is a little off. And yes, he’s just another Sarri anyway. Promised fancy football and was proven to be a fraud. Didn’t have the capability at all to manage a top club.

Ranieri should definitely NOT be on that list however. In fact, he’s the (third) best manager we’ve had in the past 15 years - with Allegri and Conte being 1 and 2.

I’d say the worst coaches in the past 15 years for us have been:

1. Sarri
2. Zaccheroni
3. Ferrara
4. Delneri
5. Capello

Putting Sarri first shows how biased you are. I agree he hasnt been the best in last 15 years but saying he is the worst before the season even ended and we’re still in three competitions is nothing but unjustified hate. I remember under Ferrara we fell behind league and went out of the group stages in CHL while we needed only a draw vs Bayern. I need not to mention Zacheroni when we got ass f*ck from freaking Fulham.

Mazzarri AND Benitez were both more successful at Napoli than Sarri. With inferior teams as well.
You think that the Coppa Italia is a better gauge of how well a manager has done than Serie A?

Sarri got 91 points in a single league season. The others don’t even come close.

Also, to argue that Sarri is worse than DelNeri is downright moronic.

Mazzarri best finish in the league: 2nd

Sarri best finish in the league: 2nd

Mazzarri won a Coppa Italia therefore his reign at Napoli was more successful. Sarri’s reign was as good as Ancelotti’s. Both promised a lot but failed to deliver.

Pretty simple if you ask me. Both Mazzarri AND Benitez were more successful in their time at Napoli.

It’s my list and I don’t care if you agree with it or not.

Sarri is not only the worst manager, he’s also the most disgusting personality we’ve had as a manager in that time frame.

Yes I am biased, don’t act like football fans are meant to always be rational. It’s part of the fun. Embrace it.

Allegri finishes 2nd in CL to all-time great Madrid and Barca teams and these fags say he choked and he’s a pussy and no one remembers second place.

Sarri finishes second in Serie A and they go apeshit praising him and call him a legend for it and his 91 pts. Yeah, everyone is gonna remember 2nd place in Serie A much more and heap praise on him for it in 20 years more than CL runner-up. :baus: :lol2:

He’s quite clearly not the worst coach we’ve had yet, there’s no real comparison to be made at this time, not to mention massively different squad quality.

I do agree with @Bianconero_Aus that he is the most disgusting personality to be on our bench in my memory. By far.

Calling agent Benitez a successful Napoli coach  That guy was one of our biggest allies with how he fucked Inter and then proceeded to fuck Napoli, nothing but love for agent Benitez. That guy even coached tripple CL winning Madrid side and managed to suck hard lol, we'd probably have a CL if Madrid kept that guy

while some of the trash that sarri is getting here is over the top, i also agree that theres is a mentality problem in the team, and the injuries, bad mercato from the board, and bad tactical decitions from sarri (sudden benching an on form dybala for who knows why), are not helping.

We need to turn this bad form spiral asap, as we dont have more time

this mentality problem is like 6 seasons now.

the only season i saw us play with real intensity and fire was during conte's first two seasons, and maybe allegri's CL knockout stage runs.

the amount of games i watched where juve went out and looked so casual and lethargic is staggering for a team of our quality. allegri was guilty of this too. many here forget, but i remember how regular it was for juve to have very poor first halves only to come up with some sort of desire to win during second half after allegri had a talk. it was ridiculous how regular it was.

his resume isnt bad. He met and almost exceeded expectations at Napoli and Chelsea. He was given a good but not great squad and was asked to finish top 4 and try to win secondary titles if possible and he delivered. No one seriously expected Napoli or Chelsea to win anything important or to really challenge Juve/City.

Transforming Juve into an attacking machine after 7 years of success with Allegri and Conte is a different beast. He needs to be hungry and make the squad hungry and take it to a level higher than what was there before. Thats not an easy task for anyone. He just isnt that hungry winner.. he isnt a top level leader and it shows. This season actually feels like his Chelsea. As if we are building for the future and a top 4 finish + any trophy is a good season.

Ancelotti dropped Napoli down to like 8th place before he was sacked midseason. Sarri constantly finished 2nd or 3rd.

it's all about cycles at napoli. their previous one is ending, and not a single coach could probably stop it, not even sarri in case he rejoined them. hamsik left, mertens slowed down, albiol left, callejon won't renew his contract, koulibaly probably wants to leave, etc. they fell apart as a team. look at spurs, they have similar issues. they still have quality, but that's not enough to produce the same results anymore.

let's hope it's not the case with juve. numbers and our form are worrying, but the quality and the depth is there. not sure about gameplan, organization and motivation.

What are you talking about? Our cycle has ended the moment we assigned Sarri and Conte went to inter. I called shift of balance in the summer and we are witnessing it now.
