I will take the win but attitude of our players is wrong at times. Shifting between 2nd and 3rd gear, trying not to break much sweat. Surely we can put more grit in.
Meh. It's January. Who cares if get into top gear, as long as we manage games and pull the result.

I expect to see occasional flashes of first gear, like against Cagliari, but lot's of just doing enough to not burn ourselves out through the mid-season doldrums.

He really like really should work on our players switching off for long periods of games.

It happened vs Roma and now Parma.
:agree:

Their goal was purely us thinking the game was won and not bothering to put the effort in to defend.

We also need to work on controlling possession and calming the games down when we are ahead.

The problem is when it becomes a pattern like last season and players dont know how to switch again when they need to. Entire last season I heard that we are saving ourselves and then we got outplayed, outran by vibrant Ajax side. This season also the big issue is when we switch off, we cant soak up the pressure and defend well unlike in previous season when could afford ourselves to sit back and conserve energy.

I understand you don't want to bunker when defending a lead but we are sometimes defending with fucking 7 players and one is Pjanic.

Can you not just close it with a one striker formation? If you're subbing Dybala then just put Ronaldo in the middle with two wingers, Costa, Cuadrado even Berna can play on the counter, come on.
that would be "pussy tactics" i guess

btw we simply have a tendency to switch off vs mid table teams. it's been the same issue since forever, it's like we considered matches won once we have the lead at around the 70 min mark.

i hope sarri will start to rotate/sub pjanic once bentancur is back from his suspension.

Discusing more like it. Happy for our current position at the table but there is always room for improvement. ;)
I loved what we did against Cagliari and I believe we are going in that direction but we need to manage our force during the entire season and reach our peak in march so I' m glad to be in top, 3 more points and how some of our players are improving in the MF

Their goal is because we don't bother to designate anyone onto their aerial threats. Is there any nuance we can come up with so that we don't have CR7 and Ramsey marking their #9? Ok fine you don't want pure man to man but if you have CR7 and Ramsey beside each other, won't the other team just run their best aerial threat into that zone?

Can you just man mark their top 2 options and play with zone with the rest? It's just mindless and I hate it. MDL on the #9 and the rest in zone even.

Actually their goal was a brilliant one by their striker, who headed it in between Ronaldo and Ramsey and guided perfectly.
Sometimes it's nothing you can do about it.

I like the man, he believes in his ideas. Even when we are winning he does sub out a striker for a defender or midfielder.
Btw Allegri had won less trophies than Sarri prior to managing Juve.

I know we can improve but you have to admit we are starting to look much more fluid. Our mid is starting to learn their quick plays and can hit 3-5 one touch passes very quickly to get out of pressure. When the team is behind the ball this doesnt finish team but against a better team who presses higher, this could undue them completely. Our passing is so much better than it was. Also our defense is coming along compared to the beginning of the season and RONALDO
