IMHO our main problem yesterday was that Lazio just break their team in two and launch long balls at the back of our MF and our zone defense let a huge gap for them to play as they pleased. For instance all that Klopp genious with Van Dijk it has a lot to do with how the defense pushes really hard the ball when anyone try to counterattack them.

We have the players to do it but Sarri keep pushing for that zonal denfense that it can be so easily broken with this childish tactics.

The way I see Lazio play against us is they counter attack us well. It's succeed the first time even made Cuadrado got red and now it's a success again

And Sarri way of play is too dependant with short passing and lots of touches. It's easier for the opponents to group in the center area and defend against us. Nowadays we need to be able to counter like Liverpool did with the pace of Mane and Salah

People need to calm down. We've seen this before where we go through a tough period mid season and bounce back to end up at the top.

For me, I still think playing mid-week and traveling +5000 km to play in 3 days had huge effect on our performance. Lazio had a full week to prepare for this and naturally are more motivated to win this kind of silverware.

I will reserve my judgement on Sarri until the end of our UCL and Serie A campaigns.

You sure know that if it was up to me, we wouldn't have signed the chimney in the first place, but now that he is here, we have to give him a chance. He's leading the table (together with Inter) and topped his CL group. That is more than i expected from him at this point of the season. Losing the Supercoppa is not much of a problem either for me, as it is a glorified friendly in my eyes. However, how we lost it is making me angry. But overall i doubt the management is looking into new managers just yet, we are more or less on course.

For now, i just hope he ditches the 4312 nonsense asap. You (generally speaking) may argue it's getting us results, but you can't possibly argue it's well suited for the set of players we have available. Lot's of times have we looked predictable/toothless and shaky at the back at the same time, bailed out only by some Dybala magic.
It's too narrow, and the way we set up our fullbacks (especially Alex Sandro) isn't helping either. If he only could overcome his stubborness and try a back three...

In short: I will reserve my new coach talk for until we eventually fall behind Inter in the table. In the meantime, i just hope he can sort his shit out. Max i can't see coming back, Pep i of course would have taken over Sarri, but not really eager on seeing him and his run-into-the-open-knife stile of football at Juve either. Inzaghi i would take, and if it only were to trigger Badass.

I cant see us firing him midseason either unless we fall so much behind, that even CL qualification is on the line... But failing to win scudetto coupled with early CL elimination should be worth of sacking.

I mean, we have repeated this entire summer, coach that isnt flexible to adapt strategy/formation based on players at his disposal, has no business being here. Results have been good so far, but failing to learn from mistakes wont get us far in CL, imo, since the bar is much higher over there. Regardless whether its Supercoppa, Serie a, or CL, You cant lose in the same manner against the same opponent in the span of few weeks.

I love how people try to rubbish Lazio as some mediocre team.

Every one one of their midfielders would walk into our starting lineup. And the way Lazzari and Lulic played as wingbacks put our fullbacks to shame. Not to mention the fact that they are well-drilled, organised and have a game-plan against us. Inzaghi is doing wonders as a coach.

As if they even gave the slightest fuck about the EL when they have a very real possibility in not just securing a top 4 spot, but challenging for the title too. They are currently the in-form team in Italy.

I disagree, regardless of the trident we have looked unbalanced

The problem is overreacting to losses
I just don't think the problem is the front three, if they are all fit they can play together

In my opinion our biggest problem was Matuidi offering nothing in possession and a horrendous game from De Sciglio

If the club’s motto is literally about winning above all else (especially trophies) then going in on the coach, players management following a loss is not overreacting. Fans are simply holding the club to the standards it sets for its players, fans etc.

Maybe I should've worded myself better, not so much overreacting to the loss but rather overreacting or scapegoating a certain thing. Like We lost, the trident was playing, the trident is the reason we lost

It sucks to end the year with a loss. I think since Conte took over we never finished a year with one title (correct me if im wrong). The most important thing is the players have more than 10 days to rest. We dont have injuries (exclude Chiellini and Khedira). Sarri has a lot to test and try his best formation I dont care if he plays with same 11 players as long as they start performing. Im very pesimistic on Paratici making any purchases in January. At this point id welcome Rakitic or Vidal but i dont see that happening either.

If they replaced Max with a manager with a winning past thats won trophies in leagues etc I would accept if it doesnt work out..

But Sarri was won nothing of note yet, has managed a team to league championship.. there was no justification in replacing Alegri with Sarri..

Half a season in and there is no improvement in goals scored but we now concede more often..

Sarri is a dud, his time at Chelsea should have shown that to everyone..
