Where i have been most impressed is his willingness and ability to make the necessary changes. A lot has been made of his "11+3" approach at previous teams but here he has been willing and able to change players and formations when necessary.

Props to you Maurice
Maybe he didnt have enough depth at Napoli and Chelsea. Where at Juve is different story.

Sarri: 'Juve defence improving'
By Football Italia staff

Maurizio Sarri explained why he started Federico Bernardeschi against Bayer Leverkusen, praised Juan Cuadrado and Juventus defending.
The Bianconeri unusually left most of the possession to the Germans, but were never really at risk, as Gonzalo Higuain, Federico Bernardeschi and Cristiano Ronaldo got the goals for a 3-0 victory.
Juve had drawn their opener 2-2 away to Atletico Madrid, while Atleti today earned a 2-0 win at Lokomotiv Moscow.
“I liked the way Bernardeschi trained over the last few days, Aaron Ramsey needed a rest, and we knew his pace would be of use,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“It was difficult, as Bayer love possession and they are not easy to face, so they took a lot of energy out of us in the first half. After the break, they slowed down a little and we took control.
“Cuadrado is growing into the role of right-back and everyone benefited from that. Matthijs de Ligt is growing exponentially. The defence moved well, although we can do better, and Bayer kept possession, but did nothing in the final third.
“Cuadrado is defending and attacking in the right way, he never left us unbalanced. The only area where he can improve in this role is in one-on-one situations, as he goes to ground too easily and gets booked with unnecessary tackles. I am sure that working with Andrea Barzagli, he’ll improve on that too.”
There had been reports Sarri would start Paulo Dybala, Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo together.
“If I am sitting in a bar, it seems like a good idea to me too. If I am on the bench, then I have to take the balance of the side into consideration.
“If the team in future finds a great deal of balance, then we can try it, but right now that seems premature.”

Seems like he is maybe considering a front 3 of higuian, Ronaldo and Dybala lol

Hooray we must be through to the CL semis

no wait. it's only October against a weaker opponent at home

I guess everyone should take their kneepads off (or not)
meh i think its fair to be complimentary considering how critical i was of getting him initially and how, tonight, he did get it right.

And i wouldnt downplay the occassion. CL is our goal, what he is brought in for and a tournament we often dissapoint in. leverkussen are weaker opposition but they are certainly not scrubs and we have often struggled against similar sides in the CL.

Mairice deserves the praise for now...

I think it was a 4-3-1-2 given that Bernardeschi commented on liking playing that position as a TQ.

Also I love how directly Sarri answers questions. Allegri was always more cryptic/ you would get less insight on how he was thinking about things. Sarri tells it how it is lol.

Obviously has nothing to do with managerial ability but it’s nicer as a fan hahaha

Good performance and result. Inter is the next test and will determine my optimism level for the next couple of months. He is gonna be up against Conte. Time for him and Ronaldo to put Inter in their place.

Haven't played anything but 433 in a long long time.

What's your setup with the 41212? Short passing & attacking?
Yup, short passing, attacking very fluid, shoot on sight. Give shoot more instruction for player over 15 long shoot

Currently using 4141 DM wide with Newcastle, pressing high and possession based, using Kean at left wing and Pavon in right wing. Still looking for main striker, Muto is good but not great

Pavon is the star of the team, he get goal here and there probably 30+ a season (will check for exact number)

Prove the doubter wrong mister.

So far so good, we are improved good win against Bayer. Next week is another test, we must be prepare

We need to stretch wide so the gap between their defender is bigger and attack that gap

Btw, off topic

Sarri and Conte appointment til today is good call with unbeaten run

It will looks like a fantastic decision if we compare to disastrous Giampaolo Milan

Sarri's interview is one I enjoy as he talking as it is from his perspective. And I agree the team still need to improve speed build up play and finishing
