We won the league comfortably, we had far more points that we do at this point last season, we conceded far less, we created more chances, we lost less games.

We lost to a very good Ajax side who should have been in the final. The same Ajax team that beat Real Madrid in the round before us. We got it wrong against them but we also should have had a penalty and hit the post in Amsterdam. I'd also point out that he didn't have Rabiot, Higuain, a more experienced Bentancur. Plus had to play Rugani at home them.

Do you think Sarri is going to win the league? I have serious doubts.
We had a fully fit Chiellini at our disposal, a coach who had been at the club for 5 years prior and a far easier league to deal with (Napoli didn't even hit 80 points).

The overall quality of football was better last season, til the Man U defeat atleast. Not gonna deny that, but we also had a fully fit Chiellini at our disposal, a coach who had been at the club for 5 years prior and a far easier league to deal with (Napoli didn't even hit 80 points). Growing pains are expected with a new manager and if we are top of the league and doing well in all other competitions then I just don't see what's there to complain about.

Last season in the CL we lost to Ajax Kids, who were dumped out of the CL by Spurs. They beat the shittiest Madrid side of the decade which lost Zidane and Ronaldo. Not that huge of an accomplishment. We were favorites and should've smashed them, instead we got turned inside out and should've lost the second leg by a far larger margin. That's a failure in my book.

We added some nice players in the summer for sure. But the likes of Rabiot, Ramsey are no better than Khedira, Matuidi, Can or Pjanic. Higuain isn't better than Mandzukic. Demiral and De Ligt are better than Rugani; however, they are still inexperienced + picking up injuries. Allegri HAD a class defender in Benatia at his disposal, but decided to instantly perma bench him for a shaky, traitorous returning Bonucci. Allowing that relationship to be destroyed and lowering the quality+experience of our defense as a whole. Had Benatia still been at the club, we just might've made it passed Ajax, rather than having the embarrassing exit which we succumbed to against children.

we won already too much, that's a huge burden to carry. team is too hard to motivate.
Have you read his post-match yet? He basically said this.

Apparently we are too used to winning comfortably every year and we now have careless, superficial attitude on the pitch.

Apparently he has conceded that his Napoli campaigns were not very impressive, and did not push us, for we still won comfortably.

Sarri: 'Superficial Juventus must change'
Football Italia

Maurizio Sarri confessed Juventus “have a problem we absolutely need to resolve, as we keep throwing points away with a superficial attitude” after defeat to Hellas Verona.

The Bianconeri suffered their third Serie A defeat of the season after Lazio and Napoli, but above all had taken the lead through Cristiano Ronaldo only to fall apart in 10 minutes.

Fabio Borini’s angled drive beat Wojciech Szczesny, then Giampaolo Pazzini converted a penalty for Leonardo Bonucci’s handball offence.

A problem is evidently developing, because Juve have now lost three of their last five Serie A away fixtures.

“Evidently we have different performances and results when comparing home form to away. It was a difficult game, we knew it would be and that Verona would make us suffer early on,” Sarri told DAZN.

“We held out well, hit the woodwork twice, took the lead, but cannot drop points with such soft errors. The first goal was inexplicable, if we want Juventus to win games, we cannot keep making errors caused by a superficial attitude.

“Verona deserve absolute credit, as they were aggressive from start to finish and we knew they would be. We were aware that it was important to hold out for the opening 25 minutes, that we’d then have our chances.

“We did all that, but then threw the points away with superficiality and it’s a habit we absolutely need to get rid of.”

Sarri assured this was not an issue of fitness levels, but rather one of focus that has seen Juventus repeatedly concede within 10 minutes of going in front.

“The mind is the most important thing, because if that is detached then you won’t be on the mark tactically. If you mind is also not at 100 per cent, then the physique won’t follow.

“What we need to realise is that winning is not to be taken for granted. We have to work harder, get dirty when we need to and not rest on our laurels.

“Verona deserve immense credit for the first half-hour, but we deserve the blame for the final half-hour. They showed great intensity and we simply did not.”

Sarri seemed to suggest that Juventus were sated after eight consecutive Serie A titles, not realising Inter and Lazio were fired up and ready to push them much harder.

“This team is accustomed to winning comfortably in recent years and we have to get it into our heads that we can’t afford to waste points.

“I hope the lesson will be learned, because we’ve been discussing it for some time. It’s difficult, because the team trains well, but then can’t bring out its full potential during a match situation. We have got to resolve this situation.”

Gonzalo Higuain was replaced by Paulo Dybala on the hour mark, so Sarri was asked about the change.

“The sensation from the bench was that spaces were opening up, so the idea was to make the most of these enormous spaces not just for the centre-forward, but for the others too.”

You know Chiellni didn't play with leg against Ajax right?

We had to use Rugani (our 5th choice CB) in both legs. Of course we should have beaten them (don't ignore the penalty we should have had and the Costa shot against the post in the first leg) but we were a far better team last season than we are this year.

Do you seriously not think Rabiot and Ramsey are better players than Khedira and Matuidi?

Sarri has also continued to play "shaky, traitorous Bonucci" when we had Demiral and De Ligt both fit. I wouldn't put Benatia's exit down to Allegri, I'd blame Paratici for thinking he could replace him with an injury prone Caceres.

I didn't say Allegri had the perfect season last year but I have no doubt in my mind he would be doing better than Sarri is. Take Napoli out of the equation last year and focus on our results. They speak for themselves, we have far less points, far less goals, far less chances created, far more goals conceded, far more chances conceded than last season. It is clear we are doing worse.

Give Sarri 5 years with a squad who could win the league with their B side like Allegri had and im sure he will have a very healthy trophy cabinet.
The fuck you mean - give? He inherited the motherfucking squad who won the league 5 times in 5 years, it cant get much easier than that...

Your base is weak, I admire that you are still trying, but you are failing and will continue to do so with your blind support to Del Neri v2.0 and your hatred and bashing towards the world class manager we had last 5 years.

The minimum expectation for any new coach is to bring new life and motivation to the team, if he can't do that I'm not sure what's the point of him. Hopefully that loss works as a wake-up call for the whole team.
