The same Sarri who said in his first press conference how much he likes Dybala? The same guy who said he had specific plans for Dybala?

You mean that guy?

I get it. You're working under the premise that the coach has any say in the personnel matters.

Quite possibly the only reason why I was somewhat hopeful for Sarri as a coach was to see what he could do with Dybala. Look what he did for Higuain and Mertens, who neither one possess the amount of skill that Dybala has.

Welp. Forget it now.
Its almost like the policy of signing players based on getting deals rather than a cohesive tactic has taken us as far as it can and is now

When the club was rebuilding post Serie B, on a low budget without much depth at any position, that strategy made sense. But the situation has changed, we now have a large budget, have a very strong squad and just a few areas that could be strengthened by a top class addition but here we are signing Danilo and Lukaku because plusvalenza or some shit.

Its ridiculous and at best a policy that will maintain our current status. We will continue to dominate Italy but will we actually be the best team in and Europe and win a CL doing this? Fuck no.

In fact we might begin to slide backwards considering most of the last decade we have had two world class coaches who made it work but now it seems we are fine with Sarri.

And wait until Roma, Milan, and Inter get their new stadiums. That large financial advantage that we have? Kiss that goodbye in Italy, considering their stadiums will be newer, larger, and more state of the art.

And then who exactly is going to be the glamour boy for this club in a couple of years after Ronaldo retires? De Ligt? No offense to the kid, but if he is still here, I can't remember the last time a CB was the face of a major European club.

yeah Sergio. Like I said, I know the press conference and read the same lines from Sarri. All that requires shuffling the formation to fit Dybala. Dybala, last season, did the same thing and it turned out poorly for him. Maybe, just maybe, the club decided it wasn't worth it to keep trying to find a position that probably wasn't going to work out. I think the club/Sarri prefers are bigger target man to feed the offense or a larger target in the box. You won't get that with Dybala.

Any way, you all keep being discouraged, that's up to you.

People argue plusvalenza, or needing to sell for cash or Sarri wants but board doesn't.

At the end of the day I think its probably a mix: You have a great player that doesn't fit the team so you sell while the value is high and try to reinforce with a player that might be more useful (yes, I think its retarded if that player is Lukaku). I still think there is a larger play that hasn't happened yet. Maybe the board really likes Lukaku (lol). Who the hell knows.

You want players that can adapt, Dybala didn't. You don't want to have an entire team adapt for one player, at least not for his calibre because he will never be a generational player.

How does putting him where he should be, as a False 9 CF, require major reshuffling? CR7 wants to be on the wing. He would be replacing Mandzukic in the lineup. How difficult would that be?

We tried it last year, didn't we?

I think you missed the part where I said maybe the club wants a larger target man sitting in the middle of attack.

Under Allegri's system, though. That's my point. Sarri could be the perfect coach for him.

And I didn't miss that part of your post because Dries Mertens is tall as Spud fucking Webb, man.

I don't disagree about Sarri being his solution. I've been saying now that Sarri is here I'd have been OK giving him another season. If Max was still here I'd want him sold.

I don't know what strategy Sarri decided on. Unless there is a bigger buy coming not named Lukaku I have to think either we are in FFP trouble or Dybala simply wasn't going to fit the tactics.

Thats how I am reasoning this move out. Only thing that makes sense to me.

It's financial. That is all it is. If he wants a bigger striker than just keep Mandzukic and Higuain. At least he has worked with Higuain and had massive success.

This is all about reducing the gross wages due to the new tax laws in Italy. Players purchased from outside of Italy are now subject to massive tax breaks, and those reduced gross wages greatly impact FFP.

Hopefully all of these rumored deals don't all need to occur.

Like say we manage to sell Mandzukic to United and Cancelo to City. Then maybe we can keep Dybs :baus:

I have a difficult time imaging we really need to clear out Spinazzola, Khedira, Cancelo, Mandzukic, Higuain, kean and Dybala.

According to Momblano, De Sciglio is one of the most techincal players for Sarri in his first 20 days alongside Bernardeschi & Cristiano. (Via

This cant get any better, everyone blaming Max for not liking technical players, Sarri comes and all the technical players leave
People think the only reason MDS played is because max loves him, Sarri comes and he is one of the most technical players

MDS = GOAT RB

Momblano got mixed up as usual. What he meant was De Sciglio will be one of the most technical players for Sarri after we continue our mission to sell all our technical players this summer.

To me it looks like Sarri has no say in transfers/the squad at all. Whatever the team he'll be given, he'll have to work with that.

There's no way Sarri prefers Lukaku over Dybala or MDS over Cancelo. Sarri might be not as calssy as Max but he's not an idiot.
