I mean, why would it look any better than the mess you folks made out of the Allegri thread after every loss? Cut that, even a draw in a meaningless game (after having already won the league) was enough to trigger a shit storm by the likes of you.

But yeah, we will be successful, at least in the league that is. Not even Sarri can be inept enough to not win the league with the upgraded squad he has been given. No excuses for the league title.

In the CL i expect us to go through the group stages and get slaughtered on the counter by a big-ish club later in the tournament.

It wouldn't matter, just like it didn't matter under Max and like it doesn't matter under Sarri now. We always look rather shite in preseason. Who cares really. The concerns about Sarri have been there ever since, they've not been caused by the preseason games.
Why so pessimistic? What happened?

What this has anything to do with Allegri?
Are we in the most important part of the season and looking shit, tired and injured??

Ad I said before, i will be on Sarri's troat if he doesn't make us a better team than recent years by the time we reach February.

Until that time i will wait and hopefully enjoy our process under him.

We are in pre season and under a massive transition of tactics and styles

At least wait until the new year to start complaining as Allegri always was given the benefit of the doubt until Feb/March

Let's face it this is the strongest team sarri has ever coached. You cant expect him to have worked miracles for napoli in europe and you could say he over achieved with chelsea given the shit team he had to work with. This assumption that we will get found out by a bigger team is somewhat dumbfounded at this stage. Luckily by the time the CL starts we should have a clearer idea of where we are at, but it will take time and patience is key. Luckily our rivals in the league are lagging even further behind in the market thanks to some genius strategic work from Paratici

:agree:

The cringe is very real.
Its almost as he gets fee for every post he mentions him

Either way, Im anxious to see what kind of improvement Sarri can come up with, concerning our general play. Last season we were stale and predictable, rellying too much on hoofing the ball desperately into the box, looking for Mario and Ronaldo. Rabiot and Ramsey will be a big boost, but Im still waiting for more direct player. I feel Chiesa is underestimated around here and he could do better job than Berna on the wings.

I know @Bianconero81 will hate me for this, but I wouldnt be against selling Dybala and replacing him with Chiesa. :p

So we end up with Chiesa as an additional winger that we surely need and balance the books with Mandzukic and Dybala? Keeping Higuain and Kean wouldn't be bad, IMO both are good fits for Ronaldo.

I believe Sarri will not be willing to let Dybala go so easily tho.

Yeah. I'd rather see Bernadeschi playing as a CAM, a la Eriksen... or as a mezzala. His style doesn't suit the wing imo.

If we keep Dybala, I'd be curious to see 4-3-1-2, with Bernadeschi behind Ronaldo and Dybala. It gives both Ronaldo and Dybala a ton of freedom up front (Dybala on the right as suits him, Ronaldo on the left as suits him, and playing off one another) and puts the energy and physicality of Berna to help in the mid, as well as focussing him on creating from deeper, which is a much bigger strength of his than finishing.

I know 4-3-1-2 isn't popular on Tuz these days (strange considering how brilliant it was in 14-15 for us), but if we keep Dybala, I feel it would get the best out of this team as currently constructed. This of course changes if we sell Dybala and get a proper winger for the right.

No can do. Too late, by Feb, March we might be out of CL. He needs to hit the ground running. At most he gets by the end of October to sort things out.

yeah, something along those lines. Mario unfortunately isnt a good fit for Sarri's tactics and neither is Dybala as a false 9,imo. Higuain would do the job better, with Kean coming off the bench.

4-3-1-2 was some of the best football we have seen in the last decade. Playing through the middle, one twos around the box, well timed in runs, etc... in the last few seasons we didnt have players to pull it off, you need more technical mids with good close control and quick thinking. Then there is Matuidi...

I'd agree to October/November would be my freakout-o-meter timeline.
I can live with that but stop this bs now, they are only playing friendlies, what should RM say now, sack Zidane? they bought all these players for a shitload of money. Give me a break, these things take time, we have new players, new tactics and a new coach, what did you expect after three weeks, this isn't an fm game!

So far the coach has tried only the 4-3-3, but in his head there is also the 4- 3-1-2, with one between Ramsey, Rabiot and Bernardeschi as attacking midfielder and Dybala in attack next to Ronaldo. Rabiot also could become a viable alternative to Pjanic. (GDS)
