Who knows what Max would have done given proper quality CMs like Rabiot and Ramsey, and a rejuvenated central defense with De Ligt and Demiral (Turkish Chiellini lel). And whoever else we buy.

I think it was likely time for a change mostly due to the fresh motivations and ideas that can be inspired by a change of coach, but that hardly is indicative that Max, who took us to two CL finals, wouldn’t have found success with a rejuvenated squad (which is another way to gain those fresh motivations).

Anyways, what’s done is done. Even if I don’t like Sarri, I’m excited and somewhat optimistic about the new year. And curious to see if the chainsmoking hobo can surprise.
He would have benched them. And start Khedira and Matuidi ahead of them.

Love those moving of goalposts

No, it will be a FAILURE if sarri doesn’t win the CL with this squad. Let’s use the same standards you hypocrites used with Allegri for this guy.

The fact is we have downgraded with Sarri and no amount of pretty passing triangles and “attacking football!!!11” will convince me otherwise. Unlike you, with a PROPER coach and one or two more key additions, we can easily be favourites to win the CL.

With Sarri and his suicidal football? Lmao no chance. His crazy high-line will leave us exposed against the top teams in Europe that’s for sure.
Yet you were one who felt time was up for allegri and had to go. Funny how quickly you changed your tune  here you are writing off a manager before hes been given a chance. How was allegri exempt from criticism in the way sarri isn't? You're the hypocrite. I say give it time and see, you bitching and whining like a 10 year old girl isn't going to change the fact sarri is the manager

Yes I felt Allegri needed to go. But only if a replacement of the same level or better was appointed. Not Maurizio “every excuse under the sun” Sarri ffs. How dumb are you for me to constantly repeat this to you? Everyone else gets what me and JCK and others are pissed off about with him being in charge, no surprises that you keep waffling on about irrelevant bullshit.

He benched Ronaldo just so that he can say I benched Ronaldo.

When you''re his age you probably need something to brag about to bitches when your tool isn't functioning as you wish.

Log off, go out for a walk and get some fresh air.

Seriously you and Jck are like broken records right now.

Imagine if we get Pep Guardiola and lost in our every pre season games...
The same people would be criticising the clubs appointment of pep.

With a squad he has, anything less than a CL SF should be considered a failure. You may twist and turn this anyway you like but our main objectives are tied to CL. I may accept notion of CL to be extremely unpredictable competition, where often not the best team wins and a lot of it depends on a dumb luck, therefore firing any manager for not winning CL is extreme but I draw the line at SF with current squad.

What a mess this thread is in. Imagine we lose a game in the league and this thread would explode like chernobyl.

It's true that when you get older you are more worried about changing, some of the users on this forum are suffering from this problem it seems.

Don't woory guys, we will be successful as usual. Go enjoy your life and comeback 3 months later.

I see your point. It just seemed clear to me that Max was genuinely out of ideas. Doesn't make him a bad coach, rather, sometimes being in one place for so long you start running into writers block. He organized the team remarkably well, and his subs "usually" were spot on, but once we got the ball to the box it all ended there. It was like everyone had Bernie end product. It was frustrating.

I get what you and the Bearded Man are saying, 100%.

I didn't want him, but now that he is here I can't help but get excited that maybe we are all freaking out over nothing. A part of me tells myself that AA, Paratici & Nedved have to know what they are doing, they haven't really MASSIVELY let us down yet. This could very well be the first time. I'm not trying to tell you (I know your directing this post to Badass) to be happy, at least for me, I'm trying to say lets save our inner anger for a couple months to see if he can manage to organize these nerds into a winning team.

I wanted Pep. That was my let down. Hated the idea of getting a guy that gave us the finger (lol) but the Board obviously sees something in this move.

Besides, being preseason and all, its best to bleed goals now over and over again to find those weaknesses so that gives our defense and coaching staff time to organize/teach to eliminate those. The time to make retarded mistakes is now, not next after the season starts.

Forza Sarri
We scored 6 goals in these pre seasons games and 3 of them were coming from fast short passing. Something we haven't seen for a long time.
This change just happened when we were on plan and changing citys each day.
Imagine a full month preparation where are players are available..

Tthe future is bright.

I mean, why would it look any better than the mess you folks made out of the Allegri thread after every loss? Cut that, even a draw in a meaningless game (after having already won the league) was enough to trigger a shit storm by the likes of you.

But yeah, we will be successful, at least in the league that is. Not even Sarri can be inept enough to not win the league with the upgraded squad he has been given. No excuses for the league title.

In the CL i expect us to go through the group stages and get slaughtered on the counter by a big-ish club later in the tournament.

It wouldn't matter, just like it didn't matter under Max and like it doesn't matter under Sarri now. We always look rather shite in preseason. Who cares really. The concerns about Sarri have been there ever since, they've not been caused by the preseason games.
