He surely doesn't deserve much more playing time than he has received though
I wouldn't have read much into any flaws shown last night. He played out of position for most of the game, and was switched around a few times (as Amer pointed out). For a wingback that loves to hug the touchline, it would have been quite difficult to be very effective on the opposite flank. Defensively nothing really troubled him from what I remember, the only questionable decision I can recall was when he could have won a throw-in but decided to smack the ball upfield instead.
It looks like it was easy for some to forget that he has had been fairly decent in some games this season and has 3 assists, as already there are morons saying he's shown no quality so far. Unless he starts putting in regular performances similar to the one vs Milan in November, I don't think there is much reason to not be a little more patient.
