He's just not suited to our type of play, just like Krasic, he needs space to thrive and use his pace as he did back in Udine, and with teams staying back when playing, he seems out of sync and just try to run over people.

So: We have defenders in the past of Amauri, people that defended how many months of a shit krasic? How many people still defending Matri?

But this guy gets a handful of games to start getting his feet back and gets kicked to the curb.

Got it.

Silly me.

The Tuz way.

I've always said, no matter how bad a player performs in one match or a handful, it's easy to tell whether the guy has quality or not. Isla has shown close to no quality so far.

Some of the posts in here are hilarious.

I'll wait til he has a proper pre season with us next season, where he should be fully recovered and in synch with his teammates by then. Not writing him off like other people here.

Fuck you Klin :D

Isla will be back. He just needs time. We all got excited when Krasic was destroying opponents the first 6 months, and then faded into obscurity. I have faith, that with Isla, he will rise from the point of oblivion to conquer and dominate. Basically, the reverse of what we witnessed with Krasic

There isn't much that could have given him a more unsettled start at a new club. I'm giving him time anyway, I'm with B81.
 :agree:

Maybe he wasn't consistent throughout the game, but it's understandable, Conte did play him in three positions last night:

LWB (when the game started)
RWB (when DC came in, Isla switched to the right)
LCM (when we switched to 4-3-3 in overtime, he was in Marchisio's place, DC was LB, Caceres RB)

i can understand that he has been injured and all that but by now even that excuse can't contribute to his poor touches and decision making
isla run so much to cover space, in defense he did great. attacking wise a bit less. but lwb and rwb is a hard position even more when you need to run up and down 120 minutes long.

isla  want to see more of him

He surely doesn't deserve much more playing time than he has received though, at this point I'd rather play Licht, Asamoah, Caceres, Padoin and De Ceglie on the flanks before using Isla.
