Do you really want to go into the season with Audero or Consiglio as a second GK? Midfield should be reinforced of course, but imagine playing crucial CL game with Audero; it's going to be a disaster.
Consigli as second GK would be ok especially if it helps us get a quality player elsewhere.

15-20 million on Perin (a very good keeper mind you), another 15 on Jabroni Supreme Dumpian, another 25+ on the epic sack of shit Bonaventura, and then no more money for other signings. Oops! Time to sell a quality player for that Plusvalenza :baus:
This. But Beppe's motto has always been "Better to spend 80m on 4 bang average depth signing than 1 real difference maker."

But how can you be so sure a backup GK could potentially start a CL game ? How many games did Neto even start when he deputized Buffon ?

I am not against the quality of the keeper. He would be a good signing but i'm afraid one that we dont particularly need right now. Midfield or even a Mandzukic replacement should be a bigger priority. Do we have funds for both ?
Given what players go for these days, I doubt 10-15m for Perin will put a dent in our budget.

I'm sure Marotta knows what chances he has of signing certain players, is aware of salary costs and our total budget. Those are the very basics of his job.

As for Mirante, he has been quite poor in last couple of seasons. Technically, not good enough to be our backup GK. Only thing good about him is he's HG.

Audero and Pinsoglio are Serie B level and aren't good enough as 2nd choice.

Haven't seen Marchetti play lately, so don't know about him.

But Perin represents good value (easily a 25m GK). It's an investment both sport-wise and business-wise.

And Buffon leaving is an end of a long era. It's good that they aren't taking any chances and will have contingency plan in store. If we had one for van der Sar (albeit a 2nd good GK wasn't common back then), we wouldn't have lost that scudo.

Genoa dS Perinetti "Audero in the Perin deal? Emil's a promising talent but it's difficult to see him replace a GK of Perin's experience. Sturaro? Stefano is tied to Genoa the club & city. We asked for him last summer & if it's up to us, we'd take him regardless of Perin's deal."

oh my oh my, please, let it happen, Perin-Sturaro exchange would be great. we already have too many back up CMs in our squad if we sign another starter besides Can and even if we don't, Mandragora can always fill the numbers

Genoa pushing for Perin to Juve. Every day some Genoa director talking about this transfer.

He has one year left on his contract and with Marotta's history of free transfers no wonder they talk to media once they wake up, lul.

Corsport say Juve/Genoa had a contact yesterday over Perin. Genoa initially seeked €20m but this figure was considered out of the market by Marotta. Genoa lowered their demands to €14m but Juve don't intend to spend a single euro over €10m as Perin's deal expires in 2019.

Corsport say that Perin has already said YES to Juventus and has an agreement over a 5 year deal worth €2.5m net. He's done his bit and now it's upto both the companies to find a deal.
