It's not at all the same. Buffon was beaten in his own corner. Here Benevento hit it around the wall...
OK, it's not the same as Woj made the fuck up mostly in that wall placing, but still, that's a poor freekick to concede, just like Buffon's biggest mistake of the season against Spurs.

All I'm saying, Woj got the credit for going multiple clean sheets in a row in Serie A, Buffon did not, Woj letting in goals that are were savable hardly got any attention, Buffon got questioned for every situation he could've read differently

As I said, a little bit of extra safety in the wall could've avoided this but sometimes you just got to give credit to the goalscorer. It's a real quality kick.

It was indeed Buffon's biggest mistake but also against Bologna for instance his pass was an avoidable mistake. Buffon just wasn't at his best this season and even 'though it hurts, from a sporting perspective, his time at Juventus has come.

it's a quality kick for a guy who's exploiting goalkeepers mistake, again, if Buffon concedes that, next morning you have people questioning why on earth hasn't he retired yet :D

I agree that Buffon wasn't at his best, but I also think that he had a solid season for normal goalies standards. Time will tell whether parting ways with him was a good decision or not, depends on how Woj/Perin and Buffon do next season, lets see.

There will always be haters who criticize unfairly, doesn't matter.

Parting ways is certainly the right thing. Replacing him adequately is another. Which is not an easy thing to do for sure since you're right, even at 40 Buffon's qualities are huge. Which is exactly why I'd also add Perin.

Genoa: 'Juventus in Perin talks’
By Football Italia staff

Genoa’s director general Giorgio Perinetti confirms talks with Juventus for Mattia Perin, and would gladly take Stefano Sturaro.

It’s no secret that the Bianconeri are interested in the goalkeeper, with general manager Giuseppe Marotta reiterating as much this afternoon.

It’s thought the Old Lady will try to lower the cost by including Sturaro in the deal, and it appears the Grifone are open to that.

“Juventus have made it known that they’re interested in him,” Perinetti told TeleNord.

“There’s still a way to go though, and time to talk about it. We need to get the TV rights sorted first, which concerns every club.

“We’ve promised to see each other and talk about it as soon as possible, because they’re the club which moved first and we have an excellent relationship with them.

As for Sturaro, he’s a player who has proved his worth, so much so that [Juve Coach Max] Allegri didn’t want to let him go last season.

If Juventus offered him up then personally I’d gladly take him, but these are premature situations.” :tuttosport:

if you take a look at goals he has conceded this season, he's let in some questionable goals

he was very solid overall, but then again the competition he faced was not Spurs or Real - basically the games that made people question Buffons quality
Except Paloschi one, none of them are questionable, esp perfect header and FK ones.

It's true, Buffon's form in 2nd half of the season is overstated. Form understandably dropped for a bit post-injury, and that was pretty much it.

Microscopic and often false analyses re Buffon has been the case for several seasons now.

Not a keeper on earth stops Diabite header. You basically have to be completely in the wrong position from the start to have a chance to save it. No keeper on earth would be standing in that spot. How can that be an error, wow.

Also, Woj comes out to grab that through ball to Ronaldo that Chiellini bottles. I've seen it all season. Any long through ball is caught by Woj right at the top of the box. Buffon was slow and indecisive and let it get to the penalty area. Chiellini should have never even been in the picture.

I know what they were thinking. They thought he could be a Paramatti or a Padoin. He was a Sturaro.

First of all I didn't say error, I said questionable goals. We'd have nothing to talk about if we wanted to analyze Gigi and Woj errors. Woj stands a good chance at leaping for it if he doesn't make that dance forward and then backward, messes with his rhythm, you either go for it or stay on the line, Woj didn't do either.

Yeah, I agree that Buffon could've prevented it if he reacted faster to it, but that Ronaldo goal is still on the defense more than it is on Gigi, what Chiellini did was far worse than Buffon not anticipating it.

Perin will be at the Allianz Stadium on 5 June to undergo his medical tests. Juventus & Genoa will discuss who will be included in the deal between Kean & Mandragora. There are two obstacles for Sturaro, the high salary & the European ambitions of the player. (Corriere Torino)

Sturaro will retire with us, it is bound to happen.

He's a leech like that druggie criminal Iaquinta :yuck: :inter:

The Accidental Footballer is good enough for a mediocre club, but definitely nowhere near good enough, even as a 6th choice cm, for a club of our stature.

“I hope you [Perin] think again, as you risk going to be second-choice,” Palladino wrote in La Repubblica.

“He, who by nature is a free spirit and needs to play and excel, would end up in an environment where to progress you have to be a robot.”
