Great deal to part with him at 80m and get that salary off our books.

If we replace with Bremer then this is an upgrade. He can be a beast. People here moaning but no team would pay the money we paid for De Ligt, he’s hardly been brilliant with us, in fact he’s been really very average and his handballs and brain farts at crucial moments have been very costly. We’re:

A) Reducing our wage bill
B) Generating a lot of plus valenza
C) Able to use the money to re-invest in the squad
D) Losing a player that would have left next year on a discounted fee anyway

I see no negatives in this transfer as long as we replace him with Bremer/Torres. I can’t image we would have let him got without those assurances already in place
