If he were trying to leave then he wouldn't be renewing. I think this is a sort of compromise committal.

We won't risk losing another high value asset on a free, like Dybala, but if the team doesn't get better in 1-2 seasons he has a way out.

It actually does make sense if he isn't trying to leave just yet but doesn't want to end up stuck in a failed project.

He is one of those players that we already know that sooner or later he will eventually be looking to leave because both his wages and agents demands will be more than what Juventus will be willing to offer to them and they’d probably rather just cash in instead, however when that time comes let’s at least make sure that it happens when he is at the top of his market value, which this summer surely isn’t it.

Chelsea would be ready to spend 70mln€ for #deLigt. It remains to be seen what would #Juventus want to do. At the moment they are focused on extending the contract of the player until 2026.
