What did you expect when he's learning off lazy legs bumucci?
that a player who cost 75m fee and 10m salary will be at least close to the beign best defender in the league in his first 3 seasons. Meanwhile these are the winners while he is here:

And guess what? he wasnt even close to beign top3 even once and guess what more? he wont be even close to top3 this year too, because:
Tomori, Skriniar, Bastoni, Koulibaly, Bremer are all better than him.

They're all older than de ligt for one, has had 3 managers in as many seasons and tbh he's still our best defender by a country mile

Hypothetically, if we can sell him for 90 million and bring in SMS + Bremer/Badiashile would you do it?
no because juve already needs 1 starting cb to replace chiellini leaving and bonucci aging. so you sell de ligt and now u need 2.

if the plan is to move danilo to cb permanently that is fine as he has proven to be great there, but then now you are short a rb. so now that position needs replacing.

however i would take money + varane for de ligt.

Our current level is Roma from 3-4 years ago, paying ur best defender (who is not even top3 in the league) 10m plus huge amortization can't be defended by any argument, sorry. Who cares if he is younger than them if he is paid like it's his last contract of career. U benefit from young players because they start with lower wages and are raised when they play good, this way u can keep them motivated and eager to improve. This guy already is earning than anyone here and we are struggling to raise that figure by a cent.

What if he doesn't renew? We're then left with a Dybala situation, where we sell him for less or he walks for free.

Until we get back to playing good football and being relevant in Europe, we're not going to be an attractive destination for players outside Serie A. Over the past three seasons, we've failed miserably in Europe, and we play atrocious football. We got eliminated by Lyon, Porto and Villareal, hardly giants of the game. Would you, as a player, consider coming to Juve, unless you are already plying your trade in Serie A and feeling comfortable here?

Why would they choose us over the likes of Real, Barca, PSG (money money money), City and Liverpool? Heck, why would they even choose us over shitcunts like United, or even Milan and Inter right now?
Didn't realize he only had two years left on the deal so we really are stuck gambling here, giving him a massive new contract that he has not earned or selling him at a reduced value and admitting failure. Its shocking how quickly this club self destructed, how many terrible decisions and in such a short time we made after Beppe left.

We must sit down with him and his agent this summer. Extend or sell - it's that simple.

I hope that brutish oaf Arrivederci doesn't dilly dally, and Chimichanga doesn't spend all summer negotiating for Rusty Doris.

Exactly, though it's hard to imagine extension when one earns so high already. We are lucky though as both Chelsea and Manu might be temper to buy him and we all know how PL teams spend money. If we could drag PSG into that bidding war we could actually still earn on him.

De Ligt is a generational talent, you think Haaland should be earning less than what City are prepared to pay him?

Generational Talent? :howler:

Pretty pathetic generation then.

He's no Nesta, Thuram or Cannvaro FFS!

We're not City, and they are retarded for paying him that much. After all, they did go out and buy Grealish, fucking Grealish, for 120 million.

I hope that club disbands.

wow im really suprised we managed to extend it, probably required some lowering of demands from Mathijs. Now he has to step up and improve his game, buy him a good partner too, because Bonucci is so past it.
