“The negotiations are over,” Goncalves told Globo.

“Juventus took us for a ride. They told us they were about to send this document and never did. We are still waiting.

“First they said that they had to focus on the Champions League, but several weeks after their elimination the official paperwork has still not arrived.

“Both Flamengo and Mattheus were upset at this and are now very irritated. I can say the same thing, so I think there will be no deal.”

Considering the quote of 'only one document missing' was circulating much earlier this year, and the same agent's quotes from a few days back were then cancelled out by the same agent's quotes over the last 48 hours or so, and they we had originally offered 2m, they wanted him to sign a new contract apparently, he didnt, so he hasnt played much since the restart of the championship, we offered 1.5m to Flamengo and whatever third party have a stake in the player. We know we can get him for free in December, and are in no real rush...indeed, take into account the lack of desperation on our part, his contract expiring in December, changing transfer fees, the amount of parties involved. It seems more likely haggling than Beppe/Juve acting improperly. There is more to the story than we are aware of, and I'd still expect to see him arrive some time this year.

I don't care much about it tbh. I ain't delighted in spending 2m on another might be, when we haven't grown one youngster yet and we have a huge squad with definite lack of quality in certain areas.

How much would Marchisio cost us now if we were to buy him?

Why is this in the Player's section while we didn't sign him yet?

Juve issued Real-Mattheus warning
By Football Italia staff

Bebeto has warned Juventus they are running the risk of losing his son Mattheus to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Reports last week suggested that the move was almost complete and Flamengo were just waiting for a document to arrive from Turin.

However, the 1994 World Cup winner has told the Gazzetta dello Sport that Real could hijack the Bianconeri’s swoop.

“Juventus have shown great interest in him and I know a five-year contract has been agreed in principal,” the former striker noted.

“However, Juve need to pay €1m up front because his contract with Flamengo expires at the end of December.

“As soon as that arrives then Mattheus will leave for Turin.

“The problem is that Flamengo aren’t letting him play anymore given that they know he is leaving and he can’t afford to not play for the rest of the year.

“He has a lot of offers and if Juventus don’t define everything by May 10 then we would consider ourselves free to talk to Real Madrid who have made us a good offer.”

Bebeto went on to describe his 18-year-old as a “No 10 like Zico because he gets forward and scores lots of goals.”
