Since Pogba is absent, Sandro and MdS should press up but they didn't, nor did they cross for big target man Vlahovic. Even the loss of Bonucci hurts us because he hits beautiful long passes.

When we attack, we don't support the front 3. Those watching PSG Bayern saw that Mendes carries the ball all the way and then M'Bappe has space and time to do his thing. Chiesa and Di Maria start the attack far away from goal and its so much harder for them to go without support. Kostic came on and was great with Chiesa. Cuadrado didn't help much, too far away and also rusty.

Allegri takes some blame for lusting over Paredes types and not thinking about the bigger picture of building an attacking team. He is so similar to Conte in that they can't win without the perfect conditions. If your game plan massively relies on Sandro and MdS supporting the attack yet both are garbage and always play, you're not going to beat Nantes are you.

So now you have to actually coach the players, not just kick it to Ibra like Milan days or watch Pirlo walk the ball out of defence because the opponent is terrified and retreats before the match starts.

To recover you need competent people in charge. Currently we have none it seems. We're in for quite a ride it seems.

If you've played football before, I'm sure you've witnessed this first hand. Very often coaches will yell players forward, but it's almost as if a sort of mental block is preventing them from doing so. Imo it's mostly lack of confidence really, I don't think it's a conscious decision at all.

I don't agree with this.
I play football as a Sunday league player at almost 37, in my country, but mental blocks never happenes period.
I agree there is different scenarios, where you take the lead as an underdog, or huge underdog and you park the bus hopping for a counter but 9 out of 10 times the favorites always turn the game around, granted they have something to play for.
As for Juve with Nantes something is obviously off with motivation of players as I don't understand how a big favorite team in Juve doesn't go out there with the mindset of putting at least 3 - 4 against Nantes.
This 1 - 0, energy conserving nonsense looks ingrained in the mindset of players.
Maybe that's how you win championships, but modern football has moved from this.
In my division huge favorites always beats us easily. You can practically see their hunger on the football pitch.
Juve just strolls around after 1 - 0 waiting for the match to end. Probably the mercenaries that wear the shirt think that's enough.
