The sad thing is he will probably say, see, all that hard work pressing and only a point to show for it. Roma was absolutely pathetic IMO, should have been a win. At least he started Miretti but we’re going nowhere again.
Sampdoria pathetic Roma pathetic.
2 points out of 6. Seems legit.

Only positive is the others have dropped points as well.
That’s true, but the Juventus of recent seasons never take advantage of other teams dropping points. Case in point, Inter losing last night.

I just gotta temper my expectations I guess. It’s hard to get used to the fact that Juventus is a upper mid-table club at best right now and not a top European club anymore. And it sucks.

WTF are you talking about. We had 65% possession in the second half alone. Roma had more possession and we relied on counters more in the first half.
We reverted to our pass the ball around in our own half/midfield in the last 30 minutes and shitting our pants every time we lost it. Possession means nothing it if you don’t do anything with it. You’re welcome to think the entire match was well-played, but imo the last 30 minutes were a joke as were the subs. The Mckennie sub in particular was mind-numbingly stupid.

I would have been fine with a draw in this match if after the Roma goal we pushed hard to win. Instead we basically settled for defending a draw and Max made stupid subs that killed any ability we had to attack. Is part of that our lack of options on the bench? Yes. But you’re telling me some of these guys can’t play the full 90? Miretti could easily have played the full 90. Rovella could have come on when Rabiot was injured and Locatelli pushed forward to play a more creative role (think Italy vs Switzerland) for the last 30 minutes, and Mckennie could have remained on the bench because he’s utterly useless. He didn’t need to sub off all our creativity. Some of these guys could play the full 90 today

I still think we have too much quality to drop out of the top 4 until unless all our top stars get season ending ACL injuries

Another season without a title challenge would be truly disastrous for this club

It’s not boding well for Max this season. Signings he wanted

.
And that’s the scariest thing of all. What happens if we don’t improve and Allegri does resign or get fired? Then we’re stuck with a huge mess again.

If I was the board, I would put a spending freeze on right now. Either he works with what he has, including the youngsters, or he’s gone. No Parepiss, no other signings. Work it out or GTFO.

All i know is that unless they are injured or fatigued to the point they can no longer stand on their feet when you are chasing the game to score a late winner you just simply do not take out your €80M+ striker, and neither do you take off the one winger that actually manages to dribble and take opponents on, no matter how frustrating their end product is at times, you just don’t do it when your replacements are Milik and McKennie in their exact same roles…

Not saying that i know better, but you just don’t do this when you need a late goal, Cuadrado for better or worst has a track record of saving us at the last moments while Vlahovic is literally our only guarantee of someone capable of scoring a goal out of this lot.

I dunno. We’ve regressed compared to last season and we look just as flaky as ever. We definitely aren’t challenging for the title that’s for sure. But I wouldn’t count on us making top 4 for sure. Not with this version of Allegri, this crop of players and our injury issues.

I am not saying the last 30 minutes were good, I am saying at no point were we defending the lead. We conceded the goal because of 2-3 stupid giveaways by MDS and others and Roma managed to get a couple attacks and counters which resulted in corners.

Again, I always prefer him trying something out and subbing even a worse player on the pitch. Idc about Cuadrado's magic, he was shitting the bed for 60 minutes and he doesn't get benefit of the doubt to see it out.

One of the things that made Allegri great before were these moments of madness, subs that no one expected or wanted, not sitting on his hands and let tired players play or reward bad performances.

Absolutely spot on in everything he did tonight. From the starting lineup to subs. He didn't sub out anyone playing well or went conservative. He tried to change things that were already stale.

Maybe this might not have changed much eventually given how the game developed, but it would still have given us much better odds in actually going for the win.
