This thread. So melodramatic.

Anyways. Next match is the first real test of the season and we’ll see if he (and the squad) learns anything from this one. Everyone’s been talking about how great this Roma team looks after their mercato, so should be a good measuring stick. If we get wiped out, well… probably a good time to street Max at that point. A good performance and result and that makes the start to the season look quite positive, even with today’s poor showing.

Happy to see he brought Miretti on with ~30 minutes left and Rovella with 15+ minutes too. Hopefully Fagioli is fully fit for the Roma and we see at least one of these guys in the starting XI. Can’t handle watching Mckennie and Rabiot dick around all year again. If he continues with that, sack him.
At last you are changing your tune. it took long enough.

Not even the most fervent zealots can keep defending this show.

I see this one often last season, in pre season. With this scheme when we try to build from the back there only 3 option :
to other CB
to fullback
over the top to ST/Winger

Then when the fullback isolated, they will pass back to CB and when the winger isolated, they will pass back again for safest route.

Nobody in the middle and no chance to build from the back and push one of their midfield forward.
Its easier to isolate and lock our passing lane. Our fullback also not kind if a good one in dribbling going forward. Thats why we rely a lot on a very good winger like Chiesa or Di Maria in our 1st game. Without them, we will be clueless

I do as well :p

I don't have specific names, I just don't like the anti-Italian sentiment that pops up here all the time with coaches and players, I will die on that hill every time. Whoever we do bring on, assuming Allegri doesn't get his head out of his ass, needs to have a clear philosophy in mind of how they want to play, but also have a bit of flexibility. I don't want to sound like a broken record but having a coherent system that the players understand and buy into is the key to success going forward in this sport.

I've been saying this for a while doesn't matter how much we change the personnel in midfield they will all produce the same numbers in our setup. Even in his heydays Max preferred a more direct approach and saw the number one priority of the midfield is to protect the defence (opting in for van bommel over pirlo for example). Our only hope with him in charge perhaps is to become a super counter attacking side quick in transition (like Valencia back in the day) we were targeting the right players for a while trying to renew Morata and going after Zaniolo.

He used this match to force management to wrap up Paredes deal quickly

Yeah we were poor.

I'd agree, I didn't like the starting tactic in both games. Nonetheless, he made changes in both games which improved the team based on reading the game, which you said he can't do. Whether it is obvious to people or not it was something that happened.

As I said the more valid criticism is of the starting tactics.
But we didn’t improve against samp - if he could read the game he would have made his changes during the first half and he has even stated in his post game comments we were awful in the first half. He made his changes late and we still created next to nothing and never looked like scoring. It’s not like the Miretti switch saw us pepper Samps goal - they actually had better scoring chances after that change than we did, quags should have scored when he was put through.

Allegri has had the benefit of the doubt for 12 months but he’s made 0 improvement tactically or mentally from the team managed by Pirlo. He’s clearly not a manager capable of a rebuild

We played terribly and our midfield was terrible. Keeping Loca on the pitch that long was bad. But people here are really overreacting to every word Allegri speaks.
That said, his second stint in Juve sucks ass.
I don't care about what he said about the match but throwing Miretti under the bus was actually a very classless thing to say.

I don't know who are the mods here, but you also need to suck it up, man up, and let that Rus guy back in. Because your boys (trying not to say anything offensive) ganged up on him and he was banned while talking the truth (most of the time )
