But it is a far easier job running about closing players and generally being a nuisance than having the technique to open a team up like we needed today. Subs are great and can win you games. Allegri has used them to good effect many times. I can see the point you are trying to make but changes for the sake or making changes can have a negative effect. The argument that we had any real viable options on the bench is delusion. Pellegrini maybe but our LB was fine and Pellegrini has been far from convincing. Berna is unfit and unreliable, Dybala is clearly unfit, Kean doesn't convince.

And I know you like your point about Kean not being a better player than AM and DV, but what is the point of having subs ever and making subs ever? Are you seriously here pretending lesser players never came on and made a difference? Are you seriously here pretending there was only the 2nd leg and 1st didn't happen? Are you pretending Allegri has not been doing this ALL season long? Do we have the power to have better players on the bench than the starting guys? You put Morata LW with Danilo LB and you put Cuads RW with MDS RB. And you work the overlaps. But we stuck with 3 CBs and no overlapping. I'm not saying it would for sure work but there were alternatives. However that is riskier, of course.
