Or you hope Arthur puts in a ball over the top.
 :howler: The merchant of the 5-10 meter sideways pass. If that fails, pass back and recycle, relieving pressure on the opposition. I've never seen that fucker attempt a through ball or a long pass. Capello called him a rugby player. Arturd gets paid millions to pass sideways and recycle possession - living the dream.

At first I was happy to see him back, now with hindsight it was a terrible mistake. We have forgotten the reason why we fired him in the first place. His return was born out of pure desperation from the management.
It made us fans desperate too after watching Pirlo's Juventus.
In hindsight, Sarri should've stayed for another season. It was a lame half-assed attempt to change our playing style without properly backing the coach.
Now we did a compete U-turn with the coaching change and are just desperate to go back to winning ways.
It's just that this time the squad isn't good enough and Allegri is probably not going to be anywhere near successful as his first stint.
Just poor planning all round.

Wtf are you talking about? Destroyed? We missed a half-dozen great chances and should have been cruising up 3-0 going into the second half. They had 0 shots on goal and 4 attempts total at minute 76 when they got that penalty. Like literally zilch before Rugani conceded a penalty on what wasn’t even gonna be a chance on goal. They scored their only 3 shots on target all match. We dominated the match for 75 minutes while they parked the bus and squandered chance after chance, and then predictably melted down in a disastrous 15 minutes.

If anything he deserves blame for the fact our players are so mentally soft and pathetic and collapse at the slightest sign of adversity still, 6 months into his tenure, but that’s also been the case for three years now. We’re just a mess of a team and he hasn’t fixed it yet. His job now is finish the league season strong, so we play CL next year which is ~70 mil revenue that needs to be secured, and hopefully win Coppa.

And then we need to fix more of the squad in the summer. If he fails to lead us to scudetto and CL QFs or better next year then he needs to get sacked. But right now, this team is a mess, and sacking him isn’t going to fix that. Just like I said sacking Pirlo last summer wouldn’t fix it.
We lost 3-0 at home, so yes we got destroyed and humiliated - utter embarrassment. We dominated proceedings in the first half but were clueless after the break. He was late with his subs. He continues to be reactive rather than proactive. Villarreal had the balls to play a 19 year old away from home, but we couldn't bring on Miretti after going down 1-0 with 12 minutes to go. We knew the shit we were getting with Fagiot and Arturd, so Allegri should've been more adventurous. We were already losing. Why wait until the 78th minute to bring on Dybala, and give both Dybala and Turdeski almost no time to do anything?

We also had the initiative in the first leg, scoring very early. Instead of capitalizing on that, we just folded and pussied out.

And I know you like your point about Kean not being a better player than AM and DV, but what is the point of having subs ever and making subs ever? Are you seriously here pretending lesser players never came on and made a difference? Are you seriously here pretending there was only the 2nd leg and 1st didn't happen? Are you pretending Allegri has not been doing this ALL season long? Do we have the power to have better players on the bench than the starting guys? Is that what we are supposed to expect to be able to criticize Max?

You talk about Dybala and Berna being injured while Moreno flipped the game out of the fucking hospital ffs.

Did Kean convince 3 years ago against ATM and Ajax playing more in those games than he did in the two legs now against Villarreal with worse competition up top? Did Hernanes convince against Bayern, Sturaro against Bayern, Pereyra against Dortmund and Monaco, Morata for that matter in his first stint, Asamoah against Tottenham etc.

You go resign to 'we can stop trying now since there is no better players on the bench', I won't.
Of course subs can work. I get the point you are trying to make, I really do. What I am saying is that subs to be effective are usually made to either change shape or make a change where at that point in time the player coming on is better than the player coming off either down to ability or fresh legs v tired legs. I don't think that we reached the point where the fresh legs of Kean were better than Morata and Vlahovic. Vlahovic I'd keep on no matter what when you need a goal, he can make something from nothing. You can argue the opposite all you want and I'm sure you will but to most rationale people, Kean coming on isn't winning us that game.

Kean didn't convince v Atletico no, he missed a 1 v 1. It was also 3 years ago.

I see the point you are making re. lesser players playing well in one off games. Guys like Hernanes and Sturaro had far worse games for us than these one off performances though. Probability suggests that just because they played well once, doesn't mean they will the next time.

You can keeping talking about the subs all you want but the bench options really weren't good. Moreno paid off for them but Berna looked poor in his last game and Dybala looked unfit. There was one viable fully fit player and that was Pellegrini who wasn't great against Samp and the guys he would replace (MDS and Rabiot) both looked fresh and were playing well. Subs may have helped, they may not have but to act like there were obvious changes to improve or change the game is a stretch.

There's other things a coach can do to help his team win aside from making subs. Adjusting your tactics to exploit your opponent is one. Max had plenty of time to prepare for the most important game of the season. He just didn't do anything until it was too late. In the second half tonight he was content soaking up pressure with a few sterile attacking moves mixed in before going to penalties, similar to the way we went out to Inter in the Supercoppa. He thought he would get away with playing not to lose instead of going for the win.

He should have made subs before we conceded. Villareal already made 3 subs before they scored a goal.

He have Berna, Dybala, Kean, Chiellini, Miretti on the bench.

Worse loss elimination in the past 4 years. Against Lyon and Porto we lost in away goal rules which is removed this year.

Lol. He literally set us to be proactive and dominate the game for 75 minutes. It sucks we couldn’t capitalize and finish our chances, but it is what it is. We sucked ass in the last 15 minutes and mentally collapsed. Sure, he could have made the subs earlier or subbed on some untested youngsters, I agree with that, but we hardly played a “reactive” match today. Only the subs were reactive.

The fact you bring up Dybala who came on and played like an unfit mentally weak pussy is hilarious. If you wanna bash Allegri, bash your little boy crush too, bro.

Allegri is staying so that’s a pointless discussion.

But he does deserve criticism for today. After we conceded the first, to take Locatelli out instead of moving him to regista and leave Arthur on for the full 90 was just bizarre. He was backpassing like we were 5-0 up all night, let alone trailing.
He’s staying for the coming 3 seasons with his 9M contract

Getting humiliated by a loser coach like Emri at home is something else.

You can't defend this. Put up a fight for God sake.they defended with numbers and didint give us space? Then Push your team forward and press the hell out of their backline until they make a mistake.

Their team didn't even want to attack us the whole match. Why playing with 5 defenders?

Allegri's in the play-offs of the UCL
10/11 0-0 0-1 vs. Tottenham 1/8
11/12 0-0 1-3 vs. Barcelona 1/4
12/13 2-0 0-4 vs. Barcelona 1/8
14/15 1-3 vs. barcelona final
15/16 2-2 2-4 vs Bayern 1/8
16/17 1-4 vs. Real final
17/18 0-3 3-1 vs. Real 1/4
18/19 1-1 1-2 vs. Ajax 1/4
21/22 1-1 0-3 vs. Villarreal 1/8
Do you see the pattern? Almost every time he's being out played in the 2nd leg and its not a coincidence. The opposing coach changes tactics, comes up with new ideas and Allergi has only one tactic - to give the ball away and endure. Even against Real Madrid our 2nd half was a pure disaster class from allegri while Zidane came up with new ideas.

Not getting Zidane when he was free was another dumb mistake by the management .
Allegri has high salary it's sure thing we won't fire him.

Why did you leave out Dortmund, Monaco, Real Madrid in 14-15, Porto, Barca, Monaco in 16-17, Tottenham in 17-18, and Atletico in 18-19 lol

So sick of saying this every season for the last 10 years but we will never win a champions league title with an Italian manager.

Unless it's some young manager with a completely different approach to the cliche super defensive boring Italian coaches.
