I don't know whether to find the amount of whining going on funny or sad. Let's just hope to end in fourth place (or higher) and then we'll see what Max and BeneBini can do for us. This was always going to be another difficult season seeing how things panned out last summer... Our wintermercato should be enough to push us in fourth.

To your point about Napoli.. that Napoli side got bounced out of CL in the group phase with 6 pathetic points that year. Shakhtar Donezk qualified ahead of them. So the European comparison doesn’t say Napoli was great. Maybe they got 91 points because the rest of Serie A was even worse?! Talk about Allegri and his accomplishments all you want, but don’t tell me Serie A was anywhere close to being a good league during these years.
As opposed to now when league leaders Milan can’t even make it to the Europa League? Or Inter last year? Italian teams have sucked in Europe for a long time now. That doesn’t mean they don’t give everything in the league.

His reply wasn't even a reply to what you said.

We had an opponent that finished 2nd with 91 points, so of course it's bullshit to come out and say we had no competition.

That 95 point season of ours, Napoli with 91 pts. Roma went to CL semifinals and got screwed by the refs against Liverpool there or likely would have been in the final @zizinho

The guy is clueless and is talking out his ass. Lol

Yeah, no one mentions Roma undeserved loss to liverpool that year. But they were one hell of a team led by Dzeko, even tho they just lost Salah previous summer. Serie A few years back was stronger than now

If you look at our individuals and consider what attributes they have, we are limited. Dybala is a SS, Cuadrado is used as a utility player, Vlahovic 1 of 3 strikers that scores goals, the rest of the team assist shy, no destroyer, no flying wingback then how are we expected to play great football? Liverpool's LB and RB let the rest of the team play high press and their 'mediocre' midfielders look great. Their wingers play so well in their positions it gives them width and the opponents have to be wary of the counter. We have Chiesa on one wing, nothing on the other side. City have very technical possession midfielders so even their defenders sit in the opposition half, with that possession they create so much.

I understand the frustration with Allegri but he's building from defense, had we gone all attack we'd get ripped apart on the counter like early in the season when we were conceding so much. To implement such tactics we need all the players to contribute. With Chiesa we can spread play and relieve pressure on the defense, we don't have any outlet now and that means the opposition can press us more. We have to play our way through the middle. Team confidence comes from the quality and reliability of the players. When Kean and Morata can't score and the keeper is making mistakes, you just can't play with that freedom because you don't rely on them. Our quality had dropped to a standard where Sassuolo has a much better-attacking unit than us.

it's not that you don't make good points. but understand that conte played possession, pressing football with players like giacherrini, estigarribia, matri, pepe, chiellini.

under allegri players are constantly swithching positions and tactics. there is no clear identity or consistency. how are players gonna be good if they keep switching postions? one day dybala is striker. next day he is am. next day he is winger. rabiot is one day cm. next day he is a left midfielder. allegri always changing tactics to 'nullify" his opponents instead of creating an identity of for the players he has.

this was true even when he had a fully loaded squad in 2015.

i wonder for example how would a non italian coach manage the players here.

@Lion Conte was good enough for Serie A but his game plan was brutally exposed in Europe. If you look at his time at Inter he created a similar team but again in Europe, absolute garbage. That same Inter team without Lukaku at least got out of the group but again got exposed by Liverpool.

He also didn’t play some high possession game after his first season. We had 58% that first season and then ~54% the next two seasons under Conte. Last season his scudetto winning Inter had 52% possession in the league. Allegri averaged about 56% possession in the league during our 5 scudetti run. Even this terrible season we’re at 53% right now.

Wow you know so much even without watching juve matches.
