It's just annoying to hear all summer that Allegri is the best at using the squad he has at his disposal, only to hear four months later than he needs 15 new players to be competitive.
That's a fair point but as Ayn Rand says: "We can ignore reality, but we cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring reality."

It's time to face the facts.

Buffon was reserve goalkeeper. Khedira and Chiellini didnt play due to injuries. Higuain and Costa had minimal impact. Cuads hasn't lost anything since then. Matuidi and Pjanic played a significant role, but they weren't leaders, the two best midfielders in that team were Bentancur and Rabiot (post Covid), both played at a much higher level than so far this season (or the last one).

Agreed about Ronaldo, he scored a lot and was definitely the leader of that team. However I disagree that he alone makes the rosters incomparable, no one wins titles alone and neither did Ronaldo in 19/20, he was supported by a very similar team to our current one, only exception is that now we have Chiesa and Locatelli and tired champions of 19/20 who went on to basically retire Higuain, Costa, Matuidi and Pjanic are replaced by younger and dumber Kean, Kulu, McKennie and Arthur.
I can't take that serious, man. Pjanic and Matuidi took a lot of heat because they looked slow and all but they were easily doing there job weekly instead of those 2 clowns.

Talking about incompareable: Ronaldo made 31 goals in Serie A alone; that's 8 more than our whole team so far. Safe to say more than we'll make by Christmas break.

I don't care they were tired, which they obviously were. But they had the experience to win games. From Chiellini at the back to Higuain upfront...

lol Pjanic and Matuidi were better than Bentancur and Rabiot can ever dream to be.

The need for CMs has been apparent for several seasons, as everyone have called for. But the same reasons Allegri left is why we criticize him too. The lack of ideas. He is a great tactician that adapts to circumstances and opposition. But there is very little in his own portfolio on how to move, keep possession, attack, and so on.

If the players can't solve it own their own, kick it long to Mandzukic. Oh, right... kick it to Morata and just hope, hope, hoooooope that he can win a FK so we can win a few meters. To be fair to Mr, I actually think we're making some progress in this department. But it's so basic. The fundamentals of football. Transitions. Say what you want with this team but everyone except maybe Genoa has ideas on how to move the ball around. Not just slowly pass the ball sideways and hope for Bonucci to unlock something. We lack creativity, yes, but even without creative players a team should be able to move the ball around. Have game plans, and so on. It's not like Inter and everyone else is packed with creativity. In comparison to us, they have it, but it's not like Modric, Messi and the likes are making it tick. It's off the ball movements and ideas how to solve various problems on the field. Barca, for comparison, has absolutely zero end product - yes. They have a lot of creative players though but absolutely no clear ideas on what I am talking about. So they pass sideways. And I am not talking tiki taka. I am talking "pass it side ways because I have no idea what to do with this ball, so you go figure instead." Having a Lewandowski would raise them by a lot. But their real problems would only be painted over and not really solved. Which leads me to...

I don't want to fire him. With a solid squad the players can overcome his own insufficiency and he can do what he does best. Like Pjanic and Dybala used to do. It worked before and I think it can work again. But since we're going to serie b because we messed with UEFA this isn't really a problem. Either way, I think even if we stay up and upgrade, we will eventually run back to the same issues that was raised before. I was pro him leaving, pro him coming back, I am pro for keeping him but I will be pro for him leaving in two-three years IF we manage to turn us around.

In short... I like Allegri, but I want to see much more clarity in how we solve problems with the ball (less issues raised with how we do without the ball).
