Yeah. It’s too bad Max didn’t play Coman more while coaching Juve to its first domestic double in 20 years and first CL final in a dozen years. Instead he really should have been focused on playing 18 year old Kingsley Coman more, the kid who had a grand total of 39 career first division minutes before that season.

And Max still played him 643 minutes that season and started him in supercoppa and first serie a match of next season to show him he was in our plans, but Coman still asked to leave so Beppe sold him. Max’s fault though, sure.

Spot on. Allegri didn't need to leave, we just needed to have invested better with the pogba money. We brought in pjanic which was a good addition at the time, but was higuain needed more than further focusing on the future of our midfield? No. We lost pirlo, sold vidal for peanuts in comparison to what we could have...that pogba money should have been used to reinvest in the midfield. Poor decision making all round.

You know his 2017-18 season was the most points (95 points), the most goals scored (86), the biggest goal differential (+62), a domestic double where we utterly smashed Milan 4-0 in Coppa final, and going out of CL on a 95th minute penalty after spanking eventual winners Madrid in the QFs at the Bernabeu. All teams change a lot in 6 years. That doesn't mean he wouldn't be useful now or before. We've had problems with width for most of those 6 yrs.

Immobile is more of a Dario Hubner and not a big team player. Useless with Dortmund and Italy.

It's true though, Allegri can only work with what he is given. He played Pogba, but he was a player well ahead of his time, a talent you don't find often. We've had other young players like Coman and Kean, players the club eventually sold, which is probably more on the club than him. Personally, I don't have confidence in how this club manages young players. But I would suspect Allegri would always err on the side of caution with talents, unless they're at the level of Pogba or De Ligt. He plays Mckennie because everyone else is so bad, so credit there.

I think the team was getting stale and the management was right to seek alternatives. But they didn't find the right candidates. I know people won't like this post, but it's my opinion Allegri is part of the reason why it's so hard for this side to transform itself into something else, which is partly why Sarri and Pirlo couldn't make any noticeable changes or improvements (along with the fact they suck), and why here we are struggling to do anything other than pack the defense. And it's not just Allegri, it's some of the more tenured players, too.

Conte had MVP. A Marchisio we could count on, a Vidal who while talented was a shadow of himself and became "Vidal" under Conte. A pirlo who when he came in could have been finished already for all he knew. A Pogba who was still sucking his thumb and got to be a factor only later.
In addition to above Conte had great CBs, average FBs, better than average forwards but not close to firepower for even Europa league. To top it off he came in after del fucking neri. The man figured out quickly what works, protected pirlo in the system etc etc.
Not saying Max is less of a coach exactly, but the notion to dismiss Conte based on Europe sounds like a bunch of butthurt fans with personal vendetta or one far from logic.

Conte played Pogba and he was already an important player in the team when Allegri arrived. But yeah, even Allegri would've played young Pogba regardless like he's playing de Ligt and Chiesa now.

Not that Chiesa is that young, but acc to Allegri a player isn't ready or mature till 25 or 26 (repeated that again before last int'l break). And actually regressed under him after hearing he needed to defend more and then attack more within the space of a week. Besides Ronaldo, Chiesa was our best player last year while playing as winger. Don't try to fix something when it's not broken (esp when we have actual broken parts in team to fix; and he created another broken part with Rabiot at LM but I digress). Amazing way to handle a 24 yo consistent and clutch player. Also thinks de Ligt can't play in back 3 for whatever reason.

Incredibly odd to think and argue Allegri is some great youth coach when the man himself repeats the 25-27 yo BS every other month. But it's a drop in the ocean of hilarious defense of his coaching this season.

Max truly is a magician. He foresaw Coman's future injury issues, and that's why he decided not to play a clearly talented young player who already picked up MotM award in his very first game. That's why he requested Matri loan and played Matri over Coman lol.

And lol at Coman not being useful to us now or in past years. And many of our lesser players themselves have had injury issues.

No one asked you to cry. You and the facsimile just do it out of habit. The funny debate is about Allegri being a top youth coach, and Coman is one example.
