In Allegri We Trust

Not a single member here expected us to reach CL finals. A lot of members constantly mocked our squad, our playing style, but hey when we faced 2 sides with some of the grestest players, having 2 Goats to lead their attacking line, their narrative suddenly changed. Allegri is hands down our most succesful manager post 2000s. Lay back and enjoy the ride.

There are two calls here not one. The decision to let go of allegri made and the decision to hire Pirlo and Sarri. It's perfectly reasonable to think the first decision was justified and the second decision was bad (Hiring Pirlo especially)
Decision to fire 5 times Serie winner never made sense to begin with.

Will Max be able to whip the shit out of our players and make them work for their wages? That should be first step.

We should get Bangsbo back from Atalanta.

Exactly! Firing a Allegri was idiotic. Firing Allegri with no good replacement options was even more idiotic. And if the whole idea from the beginning was to replace him with Sarri, that would be the most idiotic.

I love that all the news rumors are about Allegri thinking its 2018. Pjanic back, Berna new chance, Chiellini new contract, Tek ahead of Donnarumma, Dybala central to project. Can't wait for the return of Matuidi and Khedira.

What's more annoying, at least to me, is the fact we had two chances to win the CL and we ended up getting wrecked despite having the supposed best tactical coach in the world. It would be one thing if we lost out on penalties like we did against Milan, but we weren't even close to that.
I'm not an allegri fan but even I can admit the difference in quality between real Madrid in 2017 was too much for any coach to manage. We came up against a stacked real Madrid team much more fresh than us and they were bringing Bale and Morata on while we had B tier players to bring on who can't compare.

The final was the most we could possibly manage in 2017.

In 2015 he fucked up by having 8 players in Barca's half towards the end of the game and playing right into the counter attack of the front 3 of Barca.

That was just 20 minutes of craziness from Allegri and it was obvious a goal was coming from that front 3.

When Allegri was in charge, there were many times the team made it hard to itself by switching off when having the lead ( Tottenham first leg, many Serie A games) or didn't show up the first legs ( 0-2 to Atletico or 0-3 to Real). I don't know if that was because of Allegri game plans or just the players themselves or a bit of both. But I do believe our team this year would have got the Serie A title and maybe a CL semi final had Allegri was the coach instead of Pirlo. CL this year is weak af.

Honestly allegri is never going to win us ECL with his obsession with khedira and MDS.

Everybody knew he needs to be replaced and he was smart enough to realized that and left on his own accord.

However, at the time of his departure, no quality coaches were in the market!

This time round, Zidane was in the market and yet we still ended up hiring allegri back! Wtf man!

Perhaps zizou was first choice but he took a look at our players and saw Ramsey and decided to skip.

In 5 years of Allegri being in charge of Juventus people in this thread are bringing up 3 things to fault him. 2 of them are lost CL finals and 1 of them is a ‘poor’ final season where he won the Scudetto and failed to win the coppa italia or CL (a season in which he failed is judged a success for Antonio Conte however)

The 2 CL finals... tactically vs Barca we played a quality game, that was a horribly unlucky match that could have gone either way and that Barca team was absolutely superb, one of the best of all time.

In Cardiff vs Real, that was a strange game. I was in the stadium and saw a quality display for 45 minutes, but I cannot explain what happened in that second half. Was that Allegri’s fault? Was it an argument? There were certainly fitness issues as we couldn’t keep up with their tempo but it was a strange performance. Either way it was fairly thin margins to lose out.

Allegri’s last ‘failure’ season - I see a different problem from Allegri in this season and no one is mentioning it here. We had some serious internal backstabbing and in fighting. The club decided to sign Ronaldo (despite him not fitting into our tactical style or budget constraints) against the agreement of our director of sport. We then removed our DS mid season and replaced him with Paratici who had started to plot against Allegri culminating in his sacking before he had even finished the season.

Sadly the reality IMO is that our decline all started with the Ronaldo signing. As phenomenal a player he is he hasn’t improved our team and his finances are such a burden we’ve not been able to build effectively around him.

Allegri should never ever have left. You don’t remove a manager after 1 bad season out of 5 (his bad season is also the best we have had in the last 3 years anyway). Bad decisions have been made throughout this club and I am delighted to see that in the last month that is starting to be acknowledged by Agnelli.

Welcome home Max
IMO Allegri should have left after Cardiff and brought Zizou immediately together with CR7. Sadly we decided to sack Max one year too late and got one mid level coach and then one apprentice. So after two terrible decisions, bring Max back is nothing but a huge quality jump. Now let's build a team for him (get MFs), stop these "ooportunities" signs and actually create a balance and solid team

@Xperd I’d take Gigi over current Woj any day of the week
This is just plain overreacting in a season where most players were bad. One or two bad mistakes doesn't make him a bad GK. Let's look towards the future please. Enough extending veterans' contracts. We need to move on from this cycle.

Buffon played a handful of games where he was excellent. It would've been a different matter if he was starting week in week out. It's high time we moved on.
