You can't help but insult everyone who disagrees with you eh? Its a shame because you actually often make good and informed points but your tone really sucks. Makes it really difficult to engage with you and actually enjoy the discussion. You could really elevate the quality of the conversation if you choose to.
I didn't reply to your stats post about that season the last time because of your tone so in a nutshell you are making the same case Mourinho typically makes when he is told his football is slow and reactive. His teams would score a lot of goals but everyone watching can see that it's not the dominant attacking football of City or Liverpool or Bayern and others

You can be the best tactical coach in general but still have off days. Same applies to players even in individual sports like Tennis (think Federer or Nadal or Djokovic). I am not saying Allegri is the best there is but on average he does show very high tactical acumen very often.
Also don't forget that the club and players play a part in this too. Both finals were lost against clubs who historically have little trouble and a lot of experience winning the CL. Same applies to Simeone who also lost two finals.

For the duds here, Real between 2013 and 2018 were eliminated from the CL only once, by Allegris Juventus in 2015, when they were missing Modric and Casemiro (and Benzema one game). And it was still close, we won 3-2 on agg. That Real was at it's peak in 2017. Amazing starting XI (everyone knows: Navas; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo; Casemiro, Modric, Kroos, Isco; Ronaldo, Benzema) and great depth (Casilla; Danilo, Pepe, Nacho, Coentrao; Kovacic, James, Asensio, Vazquez; Bale, Morata). This is the most dominant team ever, and if we beat them at their peak that would have been a incredible overachievement.
Barcelona was more beatable, but they scored the 2-1 when we were taking the initiative, and after a not whistled penalty that would have changed the course of the game.
Max made us punch above our weight for a while, there was also the Bayern tie where there was questionable calls in both games, the Real QF where they won on a last minute penalty. The Ajax tie was indeed a close one, they had their best generation in 2 decades maybe, scored like 150 goals that year, were minutes away from a CL final in addition to a domestic double (with how poor Liverpool was that final, who knows....). And in the end, if we had a full team then, we would have won no doubt, setting up the semifinal vs Spurs. Again, that was a odd season were we peaked early, won the scudetto in January and coasted for almost half a year, so who knows I'm what shape we would have been in a eventual semifinal, but I would have liked our chances. If Max stayed, there is no doubt we pass to the QF for both of the last 2 seasons. People bring up Ajax but that Ajax was a level above Lyon and Porto, atleast

In 5 years of Allegri being in charge of Juventus people in this thread are bringing up 3 things to fault him. 2 of them are lost CL finals and 1 of them is a ‘poor’ final season where he won the Scudetto and failed to win the coppa italia or CL (a season in which he failed is judged a success for Antonio Conte however)
The 2 CL finals... tactically vs Barca we played a quality game, that was a horribly unlucky match that could have gone either way and that Barca team was absolutely superb, one of the best of all time.
In Cardiff vs Real, that was a strange game. I was in the stadium and saw a quality display for 45 minutes, but I cannot explain what happened in that second half. Was that Allegri’s fault? Was it an argument? There were certainly fitness issues as we couldn’t keep up with their tempo but it was a strange performance. Either way it was fairly thin margins to lose out.
Allegri’s last ‘failure’ season - I see a different problem from Allegri in this season and no one is mentioning it here. We had some serious internal backstabbing and in fighting. The club decided to sign Ronaldo (despite him not fitting into our tactical style or budget constraints) against the agreement of our director of sport. We then removed our DS mid season and replaced him with Paratici who had started to plot against Allegri culminating in his sacking before he had even finished the season.
Sadly the reality IMO is that our decline all started with the Ronaldo signing. As phenomenal a player he is he hasn’t improved our team and his finances are such a burden we’ve not been able to build effectively around him.
Allegri should never ever have left. You don’t remove a manager after 1 bad season out of 5 (his bad season is also the best we have had in the last 3 years anyway). Bad decisions have been made throughout this club and I am delighted to see that in the last month that is starting to be acknowledged by Agnelli.

It's not as if both those Real and Barca teams, in value, are probably twice as our squad.

I don't think we lost because of tactics particularly the Barcelona game. We held out against them but their attack was unstoppable, had we got the penalty we probably win that.
Against Madrid we had too many ghosts on the pitch that day. That Madrid were better everywhere on the pitch, much more balanced, we barely tickled them. They were just that good.
