Allegri: 'Juve got CR7 to be decisive' | Football Italia
Max Allegri admits Juventus “signed Cristiano Ronaldo because he is decisive and scores big goals” after the Supercoppa victory over Milan.
The trophy was decided by the Ballon d’Or winner’s glancing header, while Franck Kessie then saw red.
“It was an entertaining game with several chances. We were up against a good Milan that caused us problems, but after the red card we could’ve done better to score a second goal.
“It was very warm and tiring, but we deserved to bring home the trophy thanks to a balanced approach,” the Coach told Rai Sport.
“We signed Cristiano Ronaldo because he is decisive and scores big goals, but the whole team put in a good performance.
“There were a few too many counter-attacks, as we should’ve had more moves like the Paulo Dybala disallowed goal. Instead, we kept trying to move it around too quickly and allowed Milan some counters, forcing us to sprint back.
“Milan played well, we made a few too many mistakes in our passing. It was a good opening half-hour, but Milan were eager and we had chances where we could’ve made it 2-0, but were a bit hasty in the final ball.”
Douglas Costa limped off in the final minutes, but Allegri assured there is nothing to worry about.
“It was just cramp. I admire above all the spirit and professionalism of this team, as those who came off the bench even if only for a few minutes had the right attitude and determination to make a difference. That’s what we need going forward this season.
“Dybala had a good game between the lines, worked hard to help the team and could perhaps have had more shots on goal, but was closed down by the defenders.”

i liked how he got Emre Can in after Pjanic picked up his suspension, to give him some minutes before the Chievo game

i didnt like that we still had that calma approach after taking the lead, a better team might have taken advantage

Offense sucks ass. If he really wants to have a 3 man midfield maybe he should think about playing Berna as one of the three for some more attack because this shit will come biting us in the ass real soon.

Tbh, if we keep playing like this, we will definitely get punished in Europe. Teams in Serie A, bar Napoli, can't take advantage because they suck. We literally have no competitors in Mama Italia.

A team like Atletico, even with their defense being currently suspect and their attack not exactly stellar, will punish us if we go into snooze mode, misplace passes, and adopt a lackadaisical approach. Our midfield is somewhat soft and our attack is disjointed. Thank fuck for Chiellini, Cancelo, and CR7.

Everyone on earth but the team is aware of that.
