Seems pretty reasonable to me. Dortmund are not one of the big boys in terms of finance. Getting to final and couple of knockouts.

Now he got Liverpool to knockouts. (might sound meh but plenty of english clubs have struggled even in the groups recent years, Tottenham didnt advance last year, Arsenal has had issues).

Lot of people seem to bash on Klopp. What he did at Dortmund was fantastic. Won 2 league titles vs Bayern which is much richer club.

Ultimately Liverpool might not be suited to Klopp. Its a big historic club, but it doesnt have the finance to rival the money clubs in Manchester.
He was impressive at Dortmund no doubt at all. 2 Bundesliga titles and a CL final appearance is no mean feat. But I have been largely unimpressed with him at Liverpool so far. They look nice going forward with their 4/5 star attacking players, but extremely weak and vulnerable at the back. Naive football.

And i know some people might jump on the "look the just bought some defender for 75m", but it seems they might sell Coutinho so that is balancing some books and that really is the first expensive signing they made. I mean they bought an estonian to bolster their defense last season.

Naby Keita could end up costing them €75m if bonuses clauses are activated.

Im not expert on Pool at all. I dont know who is their transfer guru and how much say Klopp has. Fact is, none of their defenders are WC and i wouldnt put their goalkeeper in to some top 10 list either. There is plenty of average players in that Liverpool side.

Also lack of leaders back there. I mean who is their Ramos, Chiellini, Lahm etc?

And then that "lets buy every player from Southampton" policy.

I dont see how they can improve to an extent where they can challenge for any title this year. Coutinho is the only WC player in that squad imo, not sure if Salah suddenly became godlike or is simply taking advantage of horrible PL defending.

Pisses me off that we are even considering picking up their trash (Can)

I think Van Dijk was a bad transfer but also think that its a clear sign that If Klopp maintains CL level play they will back him. Also I could see de vrij goimg there to play with him and also get a nice paycheck.

We dont have a shit squad so allegri should be taking us far in the CL and winning Serie A easily. The question is whether mourinho klopp guardiola or anyone else would also take this squad that far. Mourinho may spend big but his squad isnt as good as ours. Guardiola is a different story.

Remember Lippi won a CL but also lost 3 finals. Lotti won a few and lost some or 1 from memory.

Allegri lost 2 CL finals to teams who were superior in attack, even when we were superior in defense overall for the campaign. In both games we lacked the ability to create and breakdown solid defenses...not great defenses just solid ones. This season we can argue we dont have that solid defense as we did over the years although lately we seem to have bettered that area. However we do finally have a group of creative players that can breakdown defenses dybala costa and bernardeschi...so allegri needs to find that balance...in big games like CL finals you need the X factors who can make things happen when games are tight. Players who can link and break through brick walls when it counts. This is the area Allegri needs to prove he can make happen. Against torino for example we had dybala and costa running a muck in that final third...he needs to make this happen in the CL. Mandzukic and cuads in that final third supporting higuain looks offensive on paper but their roles are defensive and not truly creative.

Klopp (and his liverpool) is a one trick pony. Kind of like Sarri's Nipples.

they don't know how to not attack. There is no alternative gameplan and when you don't have 1 billion euros worth of players that isn't going to skate by.

Makes you appreciate a tactical genius like Allegri even more who has us rotating between 3 formations depending upon the game/ available players.

Agreed, that’s the way games are won. But he has shored up the defense recently too. If both sides of the team are able to perform at the same time come February, that’d be amazing.

Dude they just dropped 75 mil on Van Dijk and and 80 or so on the African guy from Rasenballsport Leizpig.

Liverpool's will become a top club again before United (Not sure if they will). It will probably happen next year even as long as they fix the D

Unfortunately I agree. The big premier clubs will, eventually, dominate European football. Who can stand in their way when they can spend the kind of $ that they have?

It will take them some years and a few more wasted billions but, eventually, it is going to happen. They will learn or even if they dont just keep spending until something sticks

In theory this should have happened already and may still happen in the future. But as long as barca real and bayern are around you could argue more than good enough wages and prestigious club histories will always lure the best players to want to join these clubs.

Billions are spent on players which would equate to millions in other leagues. EPL are constantly overrating and overspending on players.
