Playing Mandzukic with Higuain

Playing Evra instead of Sandro

Playing Khedira

Playing :Sturaro:

Benching Cuadrado

He could've played 3 upfront with Sandro---Higuain---Cuadrado.

Nope he insist on playing Mandzukic with Higuain even if it's been proven thats a shit idea. No pace, no understanding between the two....

he should play this formation from now on

kean-mario-higgy-cuadrado

----marchisio-----------

as-medhi-bon-barza-da

i mean why play with mids who can't handle the ball or pass or dribble? just play that formation and hoof ball forward and use wings.

Mandzukic was actually better than Higuain today in general play.

No he was not not. He is not a defender but a central forward who does not score or even can shoot straight. Higuain created the opportunity for the penalty and actually scored that penalty. So basically in his worst game for Juve he provided more than Mandzukic.

38

33 - 29 - 35 - 35

29 - 30 - 23

26

29 - 30

The somehow youngsters in this formation were the slow Pjanic and the talentless Sturaro.

He looks lost with all his choices lately. The team he inherited from Conte was perfect for him it just clicked straight away. Now he's got a team he has no concept for it seems.
he is a reactive coach instead of being proactive. this is more noticcable in cl when things have to go wrong in order for him to fix things in second half or a return game

Out of all the games to play 4-3-1-2, it was not this one. This was a tailor made counter attacking game. Alex Sandro and Cuadrado would have cut this team to pieces and they barely played!

Shocking stuff from Allegri I have to say. The tactics wrote themselves here and he goes for some sort of possession formation with 2 #9s. I don't understand.

We don't have a SS right now but in this game we had the luxury of knowing Lyon has to attack us. It's like a gift to know the other team has only one option. So you have the chance to play a 4-3-3 without the need for a SS but you still can't do it..
Every time Dybala is out we should play 451/433

He played a couple of passes that he usually fucks up and tracked back.

He didn't do anything in attack except for the pass to Higuain.

He's a CF who can't create, he's a mediocre finisher and really really slow. Never been a fan, and he's more useless playing with Higuain.

You both arent getting me, I don't think Mandzukic is good at all anymore and it annoys me to see him start, but Higuain was that poor today that even Mandzu was more useful simply by connecting with more teammates and moving decently.

Threating to score is not something I expect of Mario anymore...

Not mad about finishing second this time, but the effort itself was atrocious.
May just be a blessing in disguise seeing that City, Munchen and Madrid are all currently sitting second in their groups, but that should not detract from how ridiculously poor we were in the second half of this game. Lazy by Allegri.

Sure we missed a couple of goals but man, what the $#@! is wrong with our passing? Why can't you get the players to string 3 passes together?
Because we play with 3 DMs, 2 CF, 2 halfdead backs and a pussy trequertista who hides so he cant get the ball. We play without any pace or creativity at all.
Benching our two most in form players.... Playing Mandzu and Higuain. Playing fucking Blasi.FFS 😡 Its meltdown time.

“We are still in the running for first place in the group. We needed to allow fewer counter-attacks and control the ball better, but in Europe that is always difficult."

“We weren’t going to win the Champions League tonight, nor in the next game, as this tournament is won from March onwards. It is a journey, just like in Serie A.

“Tonight after the 1-1 we shouldn’t have run any more risks at the back, and yet that’s what happened. At the end of the day, we have to see the positive side.”

“We tried to force the passes when they were in midfield. We should’ve preserved physical and psychological energy instead. We risked compromising everything in the last 10 minutes.”

“Mario worked very hard, Gonzalo goes between the lines, as those are his characteristics. At the moment they are my only options and they are giving their best. Tonight’s result was not down to them.”

“Pjanic did well in the first half and moved between the lines. He has played many games recently and it wasn’t easy for him tonight.”

“At the start of the match we did well. In the second half we were controlling it, then ran too many risks. At this moment I am purely interested in the results, even if it’s not true to say we are playing badly. It’s impossible to have 27 points when playing that badly.

“It all went wrong after Lyon equalised. We risked on a long ball and that should not be happening, because qualification is at stake here.”
