I have no idea. We are 1 month into the season. That's it. Is our form worrying, sure? Is it sounding the death knell on our season. Absolutely not.

And back in Allegri's first season after losing to Atletico and Olympiacos and people here melting down about how our team and mentality is an absolute disgrace... answer honestly, how far you expected us to go in CL playing like that?

You got to think luck won't always be on our side. The reason we closed that gap and won the scudetto is mostly because the other teams are incompetent, they were so far ahead that if they had the minimum solidity in the work they do we'd have finished 3rd or 4th. I'm not worried about Serie A, aside from Inter (We don't know how Gabigol and Icardi would combine but that could be a very lethal pair) there's no competition, really.

Again, you can't expect us to always rely on finding our way back, there will be a time we won't. I'm not really too worried because we have a weak CL group and more than enough talent to finish 1st but this team right now requires a lot of work. Not knowing how to pass a ball or giving it away more than you should is a very serious issue, one that hopefully Allegri will solve sooner than later because as I said, we won't always find our way back.

It's our way of playing that's not translating well in to Europe, and if we can barely string two passes together then topping any CL group is going to be difficult. Hopefully we can but fucking hell if we keep finishing 2nd in our groups because we start the season like pussies then we can expect to follow Arsenal to consistent last 16 exists.

We started CL far better last season than we did in 2014-15 where we played in the final.

It all depends on when your team peaks. And when the low points of the season are. I'd much rather have those low points now, while still managing to pull results, and our peaks later in the year.

We finished with 91 points last year. That's just not true at all. We didn't lose for like 26 matches. 91 points is a guaranteed scudetto and an easy one at that. Those teams didn't lose the scudetto because of their own poor results, they lost because we became monsters in the latter 2/3 of the season. You're really exaggerating there.

Second, I don't think anyone is saying that our poor play isn't a little bit worrying. It is. But there's no need for overreaction and meltdown 1 month into the season. We've taken 15 of 18 points in Serie A. And we drew against Sevilla, we didn't lose. For a poor stretch, I'd take those results any day.

We're still integrating Pjanic, Higuain, Alves into the squad. Marchisio will come back. Dybala will find form. I'm not going to declare our season a disaster in September. That's nonsense.

There are a lot of similarities between how hard both inter and sevilla made our life difficult. On top of that like today we didn't do justice to ourselves. It was a good test but I for one seriously hope we get our shit together especially in CL.

It's the basics, knowing how to pass and receive a ball, if a player of said caliber can't properly do both it's either his fault of his coach's. Either way something has to be done.

The thought of calling it a disaster didn't even cross my mind. It's only a few rounds so far, but again, two things; 1. top top teams don't start a season like that, it might have happened but it's far from being an every year thing. And 2. passing the ball is the basics. This team at times remindes me of that 14' Brazil that couldn't service their attackers or string 2 passes together, difference is our squad is light years better and we shouldn't be going through this.

Having said all that, I'm not packining, not even close to it. New players have to be given time to properly integrate But I expect a fight from them from day one, right now they look like they've been ran over by a train.

Sarcasm aside, answer honestly how far do you expect us to go in the CL playing like this? Not being able to connect 3 passes together? We're still the main contender for the scudetto, as per usual. But a team of this caliber has to do better if fighting for the CL title is part of its goal this season.

Season is long, there will be plenty of such games. We will get a better picture after dynamo's game. I wouldnt read too much into this game.

What I'm saying is we finished with 91 points and beat all those teams. Inter, Napoli, Roma. We beat them all in the return fixture. We won Serie A because we went unbeaten for 26 games, and finished with 91 points. It's virtually impossible to lose Serie A when you finish with 91 points. Napoli ended up with 82 points, Roma with 80 points. These teams played to their capability. THat's what I'm saying. They didn't choke away a league title where we finished with 91 points. We won it by destroying the league for 5 months straight.

Anyways, I basically agree with you. I expect better. From the team, from the players, from Allegri. I'm going to remain optimistic that we shall see better soon.

i really hope allegris master plan is to take it slow with pjaca and make him our secret new centre midfielder. we would have him as depth option for CM and second forward and he is physical enough for defensive duties in midfield. i hope he just does not bring him that much because he is not in sync with the team yet.

the good thing is that allegri knows that we struggle in our attacking play, that is why he tells dybala to play deeper to paint over the lack of movement in midfield. with dybala playing deep the midfielder actually have somebody to play the ball to in pressure situations and they can play one-two with him. That is very good and remediates the fact that our attacking play (or better the passive play, the movement without the ball) is not in sync yet. this of course makes dybala be too far away from goal to be a threat himself, but we take that in the benefit of our midfield always having a player available that can go between the lines and do something dangerous.

the question really is, what we can do to keep dybala roam, but not play as deep. the only solution is either that all of our midfielders do make those runs between the lines or at least two.

we got three midfielders with one of them having defensive duties only, so he shall not make those runs. in theory it would be enough two have the other two midfielders to position themselves between the lines, but kedhira and pjanic were not doing that. kedhira does only make those runs on the break, which is ok, since he is not that agile anyways, but pjanic is not very agile either, so he also only positions himself to be a pass station for a one-two but will not do the runs. this situation is too static and wing backs will not solve it.

one option would be to play hernanes in CDM (if he can do that defensively) and let lemina harras the opponent with B2B play and pjanic roam to connect CDM to B2B, but Kedhira is just too static to really be somebody to connect the midfield to the attack and too fragile to play CDM i think.

it is really hard right now and i will hope that pjaca can be a physical and technical gifted CM for us that does the runs (he sure does those) and complements leminas B2B play while we field either pjanic or hernanes at CDM. pjanic would fit CDM because he did not make attacking runs anyways and resorted mainly to side ways passes.
