You telling me that Pogba-Marchisio-Vidal couldn't handle it?

I laugh every time I hear the argument that the only way to have the 433 work back then was having Pepe back to help "defensively". :howler:
Why do you think Marchisio played out of position in a 4-3-3 against real madrid? imagine if we played vucinic and giovinco instead, tactical suicide

I think most of us are exaggerating on Vidal's position. On paper he is a number 10 yes, but if you pay close attention to his positioning on the field it's practically the same position he had last season. Those 5 meters closer to the opposition goal won't justify the performance dip he is having compared to last season. However, he seems to be mentally broken which is quite worrisome considering that he has always been very self-confident, even said last season how he believes there is no better player on his position. He has been carrying us on his back for the last 2/3 seasons, he will get back to his usual self.

He does better when sitting further back disrupting the oppositions play. He is being asked to link the midfield to the attack and that isn't his role and never should be.

omg guyz juventus is only 7 points ahead of roma in the league, is in knockout round of cl after last season disasters european campaign both in CL and europa cup.

but the meltdown here would make u think we are about to finish the season at 4th place and miss out on cl football.

i think some of you need a reality check. three seasons of success has really warped your mindset about real life

yes look at the big picture why didn't marotta buy at least 1 decent winger to better accommodate the system rather than just stick a couple of weak and lazy forwards out wide
Because Conte wanted to play the 352?

Lazy or not, the 433 would have brought the best out of our strongest attackers.

Relative success. It's true that we are once again on top in Italy, but the distance between us and Bayern for instance is light years. We do need to improve.

And quite frankly, I think that will only happen when we start to buy better quality players.

agree about bayern, but we have been building foundations for years now. these things take time.

and for past 4 seasons we have been buying quality players time and time again. licht, vidal, pirlo, barzagli, asamoah, pogba, tevez, morata. even guys like evra, pereyra, bonucci, and vucinic have played, or are playing an important part in success of the club

Standards have improved, everything done up to now is expected of us.

Guys like you make me sick, normalizing failure ad nauseam.
