True. I really don't see it as a 4-3-1-2, as Llorente, as hard as he is trying, is just like an alien in this team. I'd like to see Morata instead, right behind Tevez.
It's just too narrow to hold possession or to stretch the defensive line wide enough so we have more room for Tevez and the CMs to attack centrally.
And then you have Pirlo in front of a 4 man line instead of a 5 man line which is logically weaker. Add to that Bonucci being asked to do something other than sweep up. For me there are more weaknesses than usual in a 4 man formation.
I think at this point if Tevez doesn't want to play as a LW you could actually put Morata there since he seems willing to run. We need some sort of width not only to score but to at least hold possession when pressed. Inter put 3 useless forwards on the pitch and somehow just their mere presence stopped our possession. I hate to say it but if they tried this tactic against our 3-5-2, they would never touch the ball.
As far as Allegri goes, I'm still behind him. He gives freedom to the players. There's less organization and he's trying to transition to a more modern style. I don't know if 4-3-1-2 is his first choice, I hope it's not and he'll soon think of something else.
And Allegri is not gutless.
