in the dressing room after the game, the team were together and Allegri said he was going to post on twitter, the players were giving ideas apparently, and then Allegri just gave out a sigh, and the players told him to tweet the sound of a sigh
I do agree that we have a complex in CL football that we haven't been able to shake for a very long time. But that was the first time (since Chelsea away) we came back from behind in an important game. You would hope this would be a turnaround for us in the CL, but the away game in Malmo makes me nervous.

I have to disagree with you. the formation change clearly benifited us. You could clearly see improvment in our general play, build up, short passing, positioning and hell even crossing !
The team felt relaxed in the attacking third and we actually created some chances from a constructed team play and not by some magical pirlo pass or by luck. Also we had 2 good chances from crosses one from either side wich has rarley happened before (because the WB are forced to face 2 players and find it hard to make a cross).
Even the goals we conceded were from set pieces and they have nothing to do with formation change since the positioning in set peices would not change. We should stick with this formation and with time we will even get better and better with it especially from a defending point of view.
Everyone was saying the same thing about the 2-5-2 under Allegri compared to under Conte.
We always created tons of chances and "outplayed" opponents without scoring enough and we always conceded silly mistakes.
The athens match is not very different from the turin match.

Completely different game and much improved performance, we only started attacking in athens when the team realised we were going to lose the game if they didn't wake up. We created virtually nothing in that game until Allegri put more attacking players on after the hour mark. Dont forget as well they were defending very deep and allowing us to have the ball.
In Turin we went at them from the first minute and were constantly looking like a threat with the new 4-3-1-2 system, there was a massive difference between the two games and it just goes to show having one less defender on the pitch and having an extra attacker/midfielder really makes a big difference in our play.
Yes definitely, we need to look up from here and build on this new system. Going back to a 3-5-2/5-3-2 for Serie A would be a massive step backwards and i'm confident he will ditch that formation for good now.

Very true but the biggest difference is that we scored 3. I can't remember when we scored 3 the last time in CL (Chelsea?). We easily could have 4 though if you count the pen. Add to that Morata's and Vidal's sitters and Pereyra's decent shot.
With the 352 we often created so called by me "half chances". In the new formations we had 2 sitters missed. On another day those would be goals.

Yep we would struggle to bad to open teams up and get even one good scoring chance, a lot of half chances like u said which a lot of the times came to nothing. Marchisio as well missed a shot from about 5 yards out, we could have scored 7 and it wouldn't have flattered us. Would have been deserved.
