Problem is that when coaches get to Juve they become cowards. Conte came here as a guy loving the extreme 4-2-4 and ended up using a defensive 3-5-2 and a 4-3-3 that he only wanted to use with defensive guys like Pepe. Ranieri never played anything else but 4-4-2 with 2 defensive midfielders and guys like De Ceglie:)lol:) as wingers and when he left he was using 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1. Same thing with the rest in between those 2 guys.

4-2-3-1 has by far been the most successful and used formation in Europe yet we've never been close to using that formation. We need a coach who can adapt to the international scene.

Lol im starting to believe that bout teh coward thingy.

I think that most coaches who have come as of late...are guys that came from provincial teams and never experienced such things as being in a top team under huge pressure. Then they all take the same safe approach to evade media backlash and losing points.
442,352, bunch of defensive muscleboys and 2 attackers.

Better not to lose than to win i guess. Better to keep the job

Allegri probably wants to make a slower transition to a new formation. the key players are still the same from last year and they have been playing only the 3-5-2 and nothing else for around 3 years now and its hard for a new coach to force something new right away AND keep the results going. Allegri picked a safer way, keep the formation that brought all the success in the past 3 years and he is probably gonna start using a new system more and more as time passes. we'll see how thing will go. if we pass the group then i guess we will be more unpredictable in the KO stages as we will (hopefully) play a new system
