It's not about one or two players who aren't quite as good as Tevez, Pirlo or Vidal. No one in this side seems to know where their team mates are running or passing to. They lack grinta, endeavour and cohesion as a whole and that has to come down to the manager.
Well I think it is, Tevez clearly had grinta and endeavour that is inherent and not down to any managers input. Manzuckic has it too but let please not compare their talents. Squad wise we've got a consistent level throughout and if anything we've merely added to the average this year. We really lack those players that add extra personal touch to the game, it's so agonisingly clear. I don't think teams that can have over 30 shots in a game don't know where to pass to, they lack the extra quality to turn those shots into goals.
Tonight a player like Tevez would have had a goal, Pirlo probably would have scored that freekick too.
So for me it has to be down to the person who choses the players that we buy.
Though I agree with you to a certain extent that Allegri has to take some blame, but only in the fact that he's not a motivator in the sense that Conte was. Tactically though I'm vouching for Allegri based on how he outwitted some truly great teams last season, even on occasions when we were the inferior team.
When you add together the injuries we've had, the almost non-existence of a preseason and the second rate replacements he's had to deal with then you could see what was coming, and out of those three factors the person who had anchorage of the most easy to control is Marotta.
