Allegri: 'No Falcao disappointment'
By Football Italia staff

Massimiliano Allegri is “not disappointed” by the Juventus transfer session or their failure to sign Radamel Falcao.
The Coach spoke to reporters at the UEFA Elite Forum get-together of tacticians.

“Am I disappointed at not getting Falcao? No,” shrugged Allegri.
Monaco loaned Falcao to Manchester United on transfer deadline day after a lengthy medical.

“We worked well, with targeted operations, without buying just for the sake of buying. If we had found the player truly capable of helping the team make a step up in quality, then ok, otherwise there’s no point when we already have such a strong squad.

“Young players? I’ve always allowed them to play in my teams. It’s even better if they find space with the national side, but that’s Antonio Conte’s issue to deal with and not mine.”

Allegri was also asked whether the Champions League was a genuine target for Juve this season.

“First let’s focus on the group stage and reaching the last 16...”

So refreshing to hear our manager talk about getting past the CL groups. It's nice and straight to the point.

Not like Mr "Let's not forget we were in the Serie B once upon a time, the CL is a distant dream and we all appreciate dreams. Financially we are not amongst the biggest clubs.." and so on.

Lol, you dont lose time in baiting the conte lawyers here to reply.

Still, im feeling optimistic about euromax tbh, BUT ill judge him depending on performances. One thing is sure, I dont wanna hear any more excuses about defeats. If we lose, I hope he assumes his share if he has part of the blame. And also I dont want to hear ever again our coach underrating our team.

Because bar 3 or 4 top teams, we can duck it out on even terms with anyone.

I am still a huge fan of Conte mind you and he's overall better than Allegri imo

However yeah I still hold a grudge over his small minded attitude concerning us in Europe. Not only in comments but how in many big games we pretty much accepted we were the underdogs and never even attempted to control games which was crap, considering the personnel in our midfield is ridiculous.

Conte will probably come back one day, probably as an even better manager.

Me too, and is sad because our records in Serie A were shattering. This 3 scudettos won have lifted this team so much from where we were. That cannot be doubted.

But even with our limiting bench players at the time, i seriously think we gave wayy to much respect to teams in europe and our tactics were limiting. In serie A we were not demolishing teams either, but since we had simply better personel than most "lets park the bus" teams, we could go around it.

I seriously think that a lot of our successes domestically were purely the result of how much Conte demanded from players and had them fired up to win the league... but tactically there were some games that we were atrocious and others that we were simply lucky, against crap oposition.
I dont want to see more of it.

Its weird to be bashing a league crushing record of 102 pts, but i cant just take this sour flavour that some of our displays left, specially in europe. Mainly because i think we could give much more. Just take the madrid games as an example.

imo allegri needs to look at dortmunds' run in cl 2013, atheltico in 2014, and most importantly conte's first season in juve as teams to build on.

all those teams had a mix of good technical players, combined with hardworking but limited players. but all 3 shared one thing. they would press the fuck out of teams and had some fantastic off the ball movment

cont' first season team, but with asa, pogba, tevez and lloretne could have been amazing in europe. it's was extaclty the kind of team style and play that recent teams like atletci, bayern, inter and barca played.
