80 pts is better than Pirlo, dummy. Regardless of where we finish in the table.

But gaining 38/45 pts remaining which would be fantastic with this team, doesn’t guarantee we finish above Milan or Napoli because they only need 31/45 pts to finish there. Our first 4 games when the team was reeling from the loss of Ronaldo and all of Tek’s ridiculous errors has us playing catch up.

Ronaldo leaves earlier and we sign Vlahovic in the summer, we’re in a far better position right now. Since the first 4 matches, in which we picked up 2 points, we’ve collected the second most points in the league. Post Matchday 4:

Inter: 43
Juventus: 40
Milan: 39
Napoli: 38
Atalanta: 36

Unfortunately, we have to deal with the consequences of our appalling start that had us 5-10 pts behind every one of our top 4 competitors 4 matches into the season. Hopefully we overcome it.

If these teams can do it, we should do it too and do better than them. They are the reference point they are playing the same league as us right now not Pirlo dummy.

We need to get 7 points more than them until the end of the season. They'll likely suck we should suck less.

If any of these teams goes on insane runs of form and we fail to catch up, fine that is understandable.

But off the gate you were saying 4th is success. You didn't caveat it with the others becoming juggernauts or anything like that. That's very low expectations

No it really isn’t. You’re just being a dork as always, to try to support a stupid claim that qualifying for CL is a horrific failure if it’s in 4th place. No one else gives a fuck where we finish between 2nd and 4th. That’s CL qualification. If we don’t win scudetto that is all that matters. It gives us more money and desirability for the summer mercato and shows progress on our horrible beginning to the season.

Those teams don’t have to be juggernauts to stay ahead of us. They have to collect about 30-31 pts and they are likely out of reach. That’s a 76-78 pt pace over a full season. Stop being a dork.

Given the horrific squad Paratici had accumulated, this season was always going to be one were we had to remedy his mistakes. The results weren’t really important, other than qualifying for the CL and hopefully reaching the CL quarters. The goal was to build a team, and it looks like we are well on our way to building a dynasty.

Nonsense. A team that challenges for the title plays at a higher level than a team that barely gets 4th even if financially the difference isn't big. That's why our reaching CL finals mattered more than just the extra money. You treat these finals as an incredible achievement for a reason.. and I bet it wasn't the money.

They were a good achievement. Not an incredible achievement. Winning them is an incredible achievement. And league play is very much so different from Cup play where playing in a final is a match only two teams get to do, with the eyes of the world on them.

Now stop shitposting for once. No one cares where we finish in the top 4 if we don’t win Serie A. Which we aren’t. We aren’t challenging for the title this year. It was a transition season, so what matters is top 4, that’s it. Because of the nature of CL qualification, 2-4 places are meaningless in terms of difference. If we finish top 4 and get past Villarreal, after the hole we dig ourselves to start the season, everyone will be satisfied with the results of this transition season except a few dolts like you, Turk, Jager, and Dingus.

This is what I'm seeing, going by how Allegri liked to play the team his first time around:

Vlahovic - Dybala
McKennie
Zakaria - Locatelli
Arthur
De Sciglio - De Ligt - Bonucci - Cuadrado
Szczesny
McKennie = Marchisio/Vidal
Zakaria = Matuidi
Locatelli = Khedira
Arthur = Pjanic

Tek

Danilo Bonucci MDL De Sciglio

Zakaria Locatelli

Cuadrado Dybala McKennie

Vlahovic

only real question will be on the left flank imo. I went with McKennie but it could be numerous other guys. I’d play Berna there, he’s the best crosser of the bunch.

De Ligt, Locatelli, Vlahovic, Chiesa are solid foundations for the future. Less than 2 years ago, we only had De Ligt. Need to get another leftback, winger and CM and we are a top, top team. Of course, I know you’d like us to struggle and fail so you can keep complaining like a little bitch.

maybe the 3-5-2/4-4-2 hybrid returns now that Danilo is back

---------------Vlahovic-Dybala
Berna-Zakaria-Loca-McKennie-Cuadrado
-------------Danilo-Bonucci-MDL

Then in defence, Cuadrado goes to RB and McKennie RM.

Allt these formations with mckennie playing treq/winger making me nauseous. Play dybi ss or drop him to the bench if we playing wingers with vlahivic CF flanked by cuads and morata/berna
Oh, me too. But both you and I know Allegri at this point and there is no way in hell he'll play Dybala there.
