From VS. Now this sounds reasonable and balanced, compared to other 'gurus' who keep insisting on Guardiola etc.

Basically, a person contacted one of the mods there and said he has a direct contact/source with Allegri and thus doesn't wants to stay anonymous. He said Allegri wants to stay and if it was just up to him he would retire at Juventus, but this summer he wants much more input in transfers. He doesn't want to control things (like Conte did), maybe not even demand names but he wants to be deciding on characteristics of the players that we bring in this summer and that will be the fundamental point in his meeting with Agnelli.
Imagine Allegri staying at Juve until retirement. I'd worry for the mental health of some members. :D

What team is good enough for CL domination? None. This is stupid. Our team is good enough. Ajax are almost in the final with a much inferior squad. So many Monday Night quarterbacks. I bet you it was the same people that 6 months ago said Barcelona weren’t that strong and stood no chance in winning the CL.
What is a Monday night quarterback?

Sorry man, I don't want to be a nuisance in regards to that, but I think I do remember you saying Barca were nothing special midway through the season (or the beginning)

Props to Maxx. He should leave if the club is going to continue its ridiculous policy of signing randos without a clear style of play and suitable players in mind. How the fuck are we supposed to have a functional fluid team otherwise?

Paratici: ‘Allegri more flexible’
By Football Italia staff

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici explains Antonio Conte wanted “functionality”, while Max Allegri is “more flexible, he doesn’t have one system”.

The director was a big part of the Bianconeri revival, taking care of transfers along with Giuseppe Marotta.

The latter has now moved to Inter, with his protege responsible for the sporting area in his absence.

“I think we were very well matched, complementary,” Paratici explained to Sky.

“I’d deal with the purely technical side of things, the scouting, the relationship with the agents, identifying the players.

“Then there was a meeting with him, he’s a very knowledgeable person who knows football and knows the numbers really well, so he’d tell you how far you could go in a negotiation.

“The best thing is that we were so well matched. I carried things until the final stage, then he intervened with his experience and helped me make as few mistakes as possible.

“I think the toughest negotiation, overall, was the one for [Carlos] Tevez. He’s a player we contacted at the end of our first year [2010-11] at Juventus, when we hadn’t had a good season.

“We had to relaunch Juve and we contacted Tevez all the same, even though we hadn’t qualified for the Champions League. It’s hard to get the great players when you’re not in the Champions League.

“He said immediately though: ‘Yes, even if we are not in the Champions League, I will come to Juve’.

“The deal didn’t get done for other reasons, financial and so on, but we stayed in touch because it was always my objective to bring Tevez to Juventus.

“Conte and Allegri? The transfer market with Conte was down to a player’s functionality with respect to what he wanted him to do.

“That’s a legitimate thing, indeed it makes the job of those who are looking for players easier.

“Conte had a style of play and, quite rightly, we had to find players who suited a system.

“Allegri, in that sense, is more flexible. He doesn’t have one system, he’s more open and has more solutions. So the transfer targets are expanded a bit more.”

The Bianconeri’s big ambition remains to win the Champions League, having been beaten in the final in both 2015 and 2017.

“It’s our ambition, but not an obsession."

Teams at highest level don't change their strategy based on coache's needs. That's why Clubs like Juve, Bayern, Barca and Madrid keep winning trophies and clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea can't field a strong 11 despite of spending almost a billion euro.

To a certain degree it's necessary. But a lot of the movements in the market are more like trading stocks nowadays. If you ask the manager for every transfer, you're going to get a lot of requests for older, proven players who may be on the decline part of their career. You'll lose a lot of value that way.

I hope in preseason Max makes crossing practice a "thing".

Would be a pleasant addition to our highly effective, clinical and efficient attack.

He pretty much said this himself a couple of weeks back.

Call me a fake fan and whatnot, but i supported this club consistently for 20 years, and have very much lost my feeling for the team this season.

We have played the most dreadful football, just horrible. Ronaldo has bailed us out continously, but that has just been a cover up of the obvious cracks beneath. We lack fluidity, finesse and self esteem.

Our Serie A dominance is obviously a great thing, but is more or less expected at this point and is no longer a surprise with the huge difference in quality between us and the other "top" teams.

Arsenal absolutely trashed Napoli (our biggest rival ) in the Europa League, and we are currently sitting 19 points above them in Serie A. our domestic challenges are trash.

Forgive me for not celebrating like a madman when we win Serie A this season.

I feel next season will be very important for the future of this club. Big decisions has to be made. One can only hope they make the right ones, and give the right players the opportunity.

If Allegri stays it is crucial that he learns from his mistakes and understands our shortcomings. If not we will just continue to fail when it matters the most.

All in all a dissapointing season, but i hope he can come back stronger next.
