Assuming this is true the Iturbe thing did make most sense, for a coach to leave and target to sign for a rival on the same day. Maybe Conte didn't fancy the Roma challenge in these circumstances.

If the €32m plus bonuses overall fee for Iturbe is true then I can see why we pulled out.
Paying 32m for unproven player like Iturbe would be a shocking move. We would never have allowed that his agent holds 30% of his contract and therefore the fee for us would around that sum. Roma payed 22m iirc.

If this is true, Conte is one of the biggest cowards and unprofessionals/selfish coaches around. To leave a club you supposedly love just after signing a contract and just after the preseason started is terrible.

Buckle up and leave at the end of the season or say to the board you're leaving in the winter, or whatever but not like this, very childish and emotional. If this is true this situation could have been handled 100 times better by Conte.
When did he just sign a contract? A contract that obviously has been broken by the club?

Marotta's eye

- - - Updated - - -

From la stampa:
"Sunday evening came the news that Roma had reached an agreement for Iturbe , this made Conte angry. After the iturbe case, Conte called his lawyer to meet with Marotta so he can reach an agreement regarding a separation between Juve & Conte. Conte then announced his resignation to his colleagues on Tuesday morning before informing his players. Conte then told the players about his resignation. The players applauded him & thanked him with Tevez appearing motionless & shocked."
If this is true then without a doubt I blame Conte.

Spoiled brat thinks he is entitled to whatever he wants, apparently. Good riddance

He signed at the end of the season, meaning he comminted to one season at least (though from the rumors it was obvious there were problems and he was even doubting then to sign). So no club didn't broke anything in his contract. If didn't feel like continueing he should have just not signed and left us after the season not like this. Like this fucks the club over.

I very much doubt every rumor and don't really believe rhis one too, though it might sound plausable. But if it is at least something similar, not a good move from Conte.

I've said before that his emotional and reactive nature wasn't all positive.

His ideal job would be in a role like Sir Alex Ferguson, but with the additional coaching aspect. He would be the Messiah and oversee everything; coaching, transfers, the scouting network. But in Italy it's virtually impossible to have that model, especially with our influential board and owners, plus the need for us to safeguard our finances. Conte seemed to want to push his limits and run it like a fan would, so something was always going to give.

There are plenty of people here who talk about paying what teams ask, taking that risk, but in the end those people also know diddly squat about running a financially viable football club. We will pay those top fees when it fits our model, and it was never going to be this season. Several of us have been saying this for a long time, the club have said it for years, so it's been plainly obvious to Conte what the parameters are. We have brought a lot of good players in for our budget and would continue doing that without being forced to overpay.

It's not his club to run, it's Agnelli's. If he wanted a role in who he wants regardless of price he never should have been our coach. We offered him I think 2 improved contracts as well over 3 years?

Further more, as much as the club tries to be financially stable, the BOD has built a strong team for him that should have done much better in Europe last year than what we saw. I get the sense his 3 titles made him feel a sense of entitlement.
