He $#@!ed up this tie from start to finish. It's the first time in the CL that I can say I'm disappointed by his tactics. The subs in the 2nd half saved his ass. He waited a bit too long to add Sturaro and switch to 5 midfielders.

But in the end, he did just enough to get the result in probably his worst period of tactics, which tells you why he is great.

And it should be clear by now that he is not a defensive coach. He is a huge, huge risk taker with how he bets hard on Dybala/Higuain to convert. We are basically a man down in defence...

for real.

I dont know how this freak of nature pulls this kind of schemes.

Sorry guys but i cant call him a mastermind when we were ready to go out until changes came. But credit when its due.. i dont know wtf he saw in asa or licht but he nailed it. It could have been genius or plain luck, but he did it and thats what matters.

Now... if only... if only we could get our shid togeteher from minute 1 instead of betting on the casino everygame.. i for god would not moan.

The positive, is that we will get at least some of our players back from injury for the next leg.. hopefully both cuadrado and bernardeschi, and maybe get marchisio back to fitness to not see struraro eevr again.

4th year in a row where he makes the team perform in the CL and people here still want to call it luck and aren’t convinced. Fuck outta here.

Bench was weak for this game.

No Cuads
No Berna
No Mandzu

Seemed obv that Licht would be one of the subs. He was basically the only offensive sub we could make in terms of push forward.
Later he switched Asamoah to LB and Sandro LW.

Right on cue, banging away. Not like Tottenham has finished 2nd and 3rd in the BPL the past couple of years. Why didn't they just bend over and take it? Surprised there's not more admiration for the opponent, given the 'brand' of football that they play. :p

In fairness, he was probably watching City-Basel at the same time (or not watching the match at all), so might not understand that Spurs are actually a quality opponent.

Quite a few of them were going on about how every time we meet a good opponent we get exposed. They even used Tottenham first leg as an example of us getting exposed by a good team. So they can't backtrack now and act like they weren't calling Tottenham one of those "good teams" that expose us and Allegri.

And we did this with none of Matuidi, Dybala, Cuadrado available in the first leg. No Mandzukic, Cuadrado, Bernadeschi available in the second leg, and half-fit Higuain and Dybala just returned from injury.

Allegri is just :delpiero:

I hope he keeps playing a forward line of Higgy Dybala and Costa. He has let Manbro sit on the bench for a while. Sandro and Asa are in much better form too.

Im sure he knows best but i hope he agrees.

Just another result that will be looked at in a positive way but in reality continues to mask the many issues with our current game plan.

One thing i will say is that Allegri had absolute shit on the bench and made it work.

Exactly.

At this point, I just don't know what else to say about their nonsense. At a bit of a loss for words, really.

On the bright side for Tottenham fans, at least they lost, so now their management will buy the players they need to improve the team.

They played very attractive football, it was one of those revenue-growing losses that Hist is going on about lately. :hihi:
