It has also to do with our gameplay. Since we play mostly the grinding game.. we do not have the football to dominate. Our players dont know what to do when they need to control the game and actually play football. This snowballs and we get tired or frustrated and defeated.

One thing is clear, we cannot go out to the games thinking we are not good enough in any sense. Spurs played their game and got us. Why we cant play a better game a get them?
I mean, the display in our home turf was unnaceptable. We all know matuidi is a key player for us, but what we saw goes way beyond a single matuidi...it was a collective and tactical shidshow.

About fireing allegri... the thing is that there are not many coaches available who can raise the bar in this team . We could very well end with Simone inzaghi or sarri... wich are not bad coaches.. for italy..... but Juventus is very big team and we would need a master coach who can not only manage the stars in this team, but bring a really good gameplan..grab marotta and agnelli by the balls to make the necessary signings (and im not talking about neymars or Kanes.. but sensible signings that can help improve us in our weak areas), and on top of it all have CL experience
Hard to disagree with you here but let's be patient tho and see how the next couple of weeks pan out, they could very well make or break our season.

Playing the way we do limits us against the good teams who can play a bit of football

Attack is the best form of defence these days when you have the ball in the opposition half they can't score

Sitting deep and allowing any half decent team possession in and around your box always runs the risk of conceding goals, one deflection or one run not tracked and it's a goal

In Serie A teams can not punish us like Tottenham and the better teams can because they don't have the quality in Serie A

Tottenham had 11 players in our own half, a Serie A team would never even dream of that bar maybe Napoli

We are treating CL games like league games and thinking our defence will hang on and not concede but we got a reality check against Real Madrid and now Tottenham played us off the park and exposed us

Regardless of who we sold we are better than that, that is not Juventus how we played against Tottenham

No fan should ever accept that kind of mediocrity that was on display against Tottenham

Our own fans booed the team because they knew that wasn't Juve either and what they paid money to see they expected better than that rubbish

As long as we are living in our Serie A bubble of winning the league it's all ok though

Pathetic attitude from the management in general

There is no will to improve just to do enough to win the league is a success for them

This Serie A bubble has to burst and Napoli winning the league may give the management the reality check they need

Yesterday, PSG was able to match Real for 80 minutes (until Emery went full retard with his substitutions).

While PSG do have a great attack, the spine of their team (Areola, Yuri, Kimpembe, Marquinhos, old Alves, Lo Celso, Verratti, Rabiot) is not better than Juve.

A different coach could make a midfield trio of Matuidi, Pjanic and Bentancur be very effective.

As it stands right now, under Allegri our midfield is basically non-existent against tougher opposition. In any big game, we struggle to maintain possession and are pinned back in our own half.

yup. Thats because we cant string 3 passes together. Our team seems to be uncomfort when in possesion. Its like if we only practice how to defend but neglect hopw to attack and maintain possesion

Our midfield with Matuidi has been very good, the problem was when he is missing we have 3 starting mids that are too static
We should never go back to the midfield two
It worked last year partly because we had a super human Mandzukic, Cuadrado that worked hard on the other wing and Bonucci that aided the midfield.

I really want both Torreira and Barella in the summer. Two young midfielders with both grinta and technical ability. We are the biggest club in Italy and should be poaching the promising young players of our league.

Perhaps, but we weren’t playing against Real Madrid or Barcelona. We were playing against Tottenham. A team who loses players just like we do. Spurs don’t have a better squad than us.
I agree with you that we have a strong side at full strength, but who could've played in midfield to win us that battle? Sturaro? What about some added pace? We don't really have anyone for that. We're down two of our most potent attacking threats (Dybala, Cuadrado) with absolutely no replacement on the bench. All this talk of the supposed amazing depth all these years, where is it? Throwing away a two goal lead at home is absolutely inexcusable, but it's not easy to put together a dynamic starting 11 at the moment imo.

This is the team I wanted to see against Tottenham. I quote my post on the first page of the match thread:

Buffon
De Sciglio - Benatia - Chiellini - Sandro
Marchisio - Pjanic - Khedira
Bernardeschi - Higuain - Costa

1-0 will do nicely
Assuming that Marchisio is injured, I would have gone with Bentancur instead.

Bentancur would have provided an extra body in midfield and a calmness on the ball. We would have controlled the middle of the pitch better. Costa is better on the wing than he is down the middle, so he would have been more effective too.

Ultimately that’s just my opinion, but IMO Max got it badly wrong against Spurs.

I do agree that we were unlucky with injuries. But if Dybala and Matuidi are back for the return game, then Max has no excuses IMO.

Our management will get the needed reality check and hire his hero Sarri, and we will play really pretty football while crashing out of group stage every year, getting slaughtered by Red Bull and Shaktar and Feyenoord and the likes. :weee:

Assuming we play our best lineup, we have Mandzukic, Cuadrado, Bernardeschi, Marchisio, Bentancur, Sturaro, Rugani, Barzagli, Lichtsteiner, Asamoah and Szczesny on the bench. Our bench would probably finish top 4 in Serie A.

Take that into account if you want to compare Allegri's performances in Europe to those of Sarri. It's pretty obvious that Sarri put all his eggs in Serie A's basket in both 2015/16 and 2017/18. The one season when they were not title contenders (2016/17), Napoli's performance in Europe was respectable.

That's the extreme end of the spectrum Bro. However, tell me, did you enjoy our performance against Spurs? Did you like seeing Spurs camped out in our half after the 15th minute of the 1st half, and enjoying close to 70% possession? Isn't that embarrassing? We weren't able to keep the ball, and we were playing at home. It's one thing to defend a 2 goal lead, and another to retreat into your half of the pitch completely. Frankly, it was disgusting. Defend, but no need to go full retard and defend that deeply, especially against a team with pace and technical ability who possess obvious vulnerabilities in defense.
