The storm has been coming since last season.

The only difference is our defence has weakened and the other teams are not dropping points like they usually are that's why we are 3rd and not top

Same problems existed in attack all of last season, we would only make mostly half chances and not many moves where we completely open up a defence and get strikers in positions where they were expected to score.

It's a combination of the other teams being better and our defence being weaker, our attack should theoretically improve with the players brought in but we don't play a good attacking game so we are better off with a better defence and weaker attack like last season as that suits Allegri more

Juve, how they change

Allegri prepares the tactical transformation of the Bianconeri
The focus will be a more packed midfield with the choice between 4-3-3 and 3-4-2-1 :weee:

If he takes the hint that we need more numbers in midfield, that's certainly one step closer to me trusting him again. Always appreciated that was willing and able to change gears. Hopefully he does.

@zizinho - what do you think of his timing though? I mean, Napoli, Olympiakos, & Inter all lined up. Seems a bit risky now but what the hell. Should have began this change a couple weeks ago.

i think he was experimenting in practice for a while, kinda like how we introduced the 4231 "out of the blue" last season but it clicked instantly and looked like we played it for years. lets see how we do vs Crotone, i think that will be the decider for him, but if he has figured something out then im eager to see what exactly it is. we already tried the 3421 vs Barca, we looked alright but couldnt do much on the offense (we were without Chiellini, Mandzukic and Matuidi though, so we had zero grinta). if he has a 433 in mind then im curious how it will look, and who will play where (looking at Pjanic, Mandzukic, Cuads and Dybala mainly here)

Need Matuidi on there with his tireless legs. Marchisio too because he will control our transition and both he & pjanic excel in distribution. MDS and Howedes for RB. No more Licht. I do want to see Mario as a target man, he just seems to be the safer bet at the moment with Higuain trying to find himself. One of our biggest issues right now is Sandro. Max needs to figure that guy out quickly.

if you ask me, id bench Higuain as ive been saying so for a while, but most people probably already know it. individually hes a top striker, but i dont see the team that is built around him as good as one built around Dybala, and he needs the team built around him if you want to make him perform at his best... Dybala-Mandzukic partnership 2 years ago was perfect for the little guy. Mandzukic was letting him play CF while he was working his ass off all over the place. you had brain and muscle, technique and grinta. with Higgy, who needs the team working FOR HIM, Dybala didnt exactly shine for 2 years now. so in my preferred 3421 if we would bench Higuain and have Dybs and Mandzo together, add a 3rd man behind them/next to them (Berna preferably), you could still keep Cuads in the lineup at RWB. thats why its my favorite if we try to go away from the 4231. in the 433 there are a few things that bother me, like Pjanics position (he didnt look great at CM last season, and if hes the DM, where with Marchisio?), Dybalas (probably RW but benching Cuads is a bad decision imo), but ill leave the details to Max

You aren't the only one. Competition is good and right now Higuain has zero competition in the lineup.

Pjanic sits in front of defense and Marchisio can be more b2b. Matuidi doing the leg work. None of our midfielders make those amazing runs into the box like Marchisio does.

that would be perfect with prime Claudio, but does he have the legs for it after so many injuries and age coming for him? with some heavy rotation with Sami and Benta, maybe he could pull it off

But can 3-6-1 work in Europe
