Damn I am good, it was obvious how much we tried to take the lead and how Madrid were simply in save energy mode and were able to up their game only when had consumed the last bit of energy. Back to the lack of depth in the CL which cannot be fixed by selling Alex Sandro.

Agree with the Madrid game analysis.

If Alex Sandro is sold that money can be used to fund the signings of De Sciglio and Darmian which would take care of the full back situation which would allow Marotta to use the rest of the funds (from the sale or what we have) on adding offensive depth (Douglas Costa, Bernardeschi etc). Could turn out to be another genius move imo.

Signing De Shitlio and Dumb-Yan does anything but take care of the full back situation. Two massive downgrades for two world class players. We go from Alves and Sandro, arguably a top 2-3 partnership to two Italian sacks of shit. From a feared and respected partnership, to one that is probably not even in the top 20 ffs!

De Sciglio was touted as the next Maldini under Allegri at Milan (not saying its right) and I remember Darmian being a sought after RB at Torino. If Allegri can help them realize their potential they can turned into a more solid defensive FB partnership compared to Shitves and Alex Sandro. Tho that is a big IF

Also it would feel nice having a full Italian defense.

Potential

De Sciglio is 25

Darmian is 28

What are you on about?

They are backups at best for a club like us. Heck De Sciglio is a sub material for a shit Milan ffs.

This theory of Beppe selling Alex Sandro to get more depth up front is ridiculous, Alex Sandro (when shifting into attacking mode) offers so much when we go forward in creativity and stretches play (he can beat players 1 v 1 and create space). Try doing that with DS and Darmian.. We might bolster attack, but we're taking out one of the links between our defence and attack.

Good point. But one thing to keep in mind is more defensive fullbacks could mean less tracking back from the wingers and we could see the wingers take more attacking responsibility.

Let's hope that Beppe does add some creative players up front, that can create some real chances and provide solid service to Higuain, so we can get the most out of him.

Darmain is more clever than Sandro. People remember the Manchester Darmain who is not playing well because he doesn't know what he is doing. New culture, new style of play and new food. Bring the fella back to Italy and you will see him the defender he is. I like defenders who stay only in their positions. .

Might as well put a large cone on the leftback position then, it would probably do a better job..
