Khedira and Pjanic are luxury players and it shows when they both start, especially if they're out of form. Their lack of physicality wouldn't be such a big issue if they weren't also so static. Last night they had Marchisio and Sturaro next to them and still couldn't cope or find space so it's not a formation/tactics problem, they just don't work well together. People laughed when we were linked with Matuidi but we really need someone strong in the mdifield that runs his socks off and can dissipate the pressure, and he would have brought just that. Witsel could have worked too but I feel he's just Khedira 2.0. Our midfield is good on paper but really unbalanced once you take a closer look. At this point I'd rather see Pjanc paired with Lemina cause Sami really isn't cutting it lately. And even if we find some way to accomodate Khedira (maybe with Hernanes and Marchisio next to him?), is it really worth it? You basically have an AFK midfielder that makes runs to the box from time to time and might score a few headers. He used to be way better and a good all-round midfielder but lately that's all he's bringing to the table.

Dysfunctional and imbalanced team. We were too cautious and conservative against a mid table Ligue 1 team at fucking home. They embarrassed us over 180 minutes, and we are incredibly fortunate to emerge unscathed. Four points is an "impressive" return considering the way we played; it could've easily been Zero!

Allegri: «Mi interessa solo vincere e non è vero che giochiamo male»

This is the problem. He is blind or stupid. In 180 minutes against Lyon the french team created more chances and yet he thinks Juve played well...its $#@!ing Lyon you stubborn ox.
specially when even Buffon said: "I know we aren't performing and that might be enough for Serie A but not for Champions League"

This team has no future with him. He can win in serie a but seriously, with this team anyone can do it.

We are performing really bad, can't make any attacking play, the team really lacks ideas, we rely on the individual skills of our players, team has no identity and we lack creativity.

If we really have any ambition to become a european giant we need a coach that can help us do just that, not be a coward and set back as soon as you score against freaking Lyon at home.

And that press conference after the match... godammnn :sergio:
Yes we need to fire our coach when leading the league by 4 points and looking well on our way to CL knockout stages unbeaten.

Come on man. It's getting ridiculous.

First you have to win. Then you have to win everything. Then you have to win everything playing good football. I don't think the latter is possible for an Italian side, not in modern football, and the second is very difficult because of the elite CL teams.

I don't think we can try to canter through the league games and then hope to suddenly turn it on for the CL, but it's also too difficult to play both at a good tempo. We need to pick and choose our moments better.

All said and done we've been in this situation before, the team doesn't seem to really get going for a while, but at least we have the points on the board this time.

The other thing regarding winning the group - we try to win the group to show we are a top team, as that is what top teams do, less trying to get a better draw. So you get a better draw in RO16 and progress, you then invariably play a top side in the QFs. No one cares or remembers who went out in RO16 or QF, if you are good enough to win the tournament you beat what is in front of you, at the moment it's not something we should be thinking about as it's less relevant than is being made out in that respect. It's relevant for prestige above all, finishing behind Sevilla reduces ours, just as last year did with City. Maybe we like pretending we are underdogs.

Come Feb/Mar things change, we're normally always in better shape. Add a strong CM in Jan and we'll see what happens.

Yes the team is dysfunctional with no chemistry but don't forget guys that it's November and due to various reasons we haven't managed to field our best 11 yet. On top of that some of our players look tired as frak. The international break couldn't come sooner.

He's right if you think of it. Higuain had the chance to KO the match, a very easy chance he missed and I seriously believe this could have gone 4-0 or 5-0 had Higuain buried that chance.
