That is some lame table. As if the probability of succes only depends on your managerial skills and money the club spend after you take over (meaning that having data on succes measured in titles as a proxy and gross spending will mean you can derive a managers capability)...

What this doesn't show is a teams strenght when a manager takes over (When Guardiola for example took over in Bayern, they already had a fantastic team, while he in City will need to spend a lot more to make the team fight for CL glory), the strenght of opposition (Ancelotti manages Chelsea when the PL had some very strong teams and managed Real when Barca were top notch, which means winning a league title will all else equal be a harder task than what he faces with Bayern), or the sales (When Allegri managed Milan, they spend some money, sure, but they also sold their most important players, not exactly making his job easier). Also when dealing with time series, the cut off points are extremely important. I assume, by looking at Allegri's amount, that this window also counts, but why count that when the titles this year are all still up for grabs? Also some countries have more tournaments...

Well my point really is just that you have to look a the bigger picture. There are a lot more factors than just the sum of player acquisitions and the number of titles for a couple of years when you have to talk about the level of a manager (which this is totally aimed at).

I don't know if people noticed, but Allegri did something very interesting in the first match when using Pjanic.

Pjanic played a roaming role in the midfield, playing wether as an AM, inserting in the box constantly, but also going back to start plays sometimes, as a regista, and also as a CM.

He was pretty much free in the midfield.

Dybala is clearly also roaming, but more upfront. But many times Dybala would be in a further position than Pjanic.

This is because we dont need Dybala to score as much as he did last season. We lacked it with Mandzukic, but clearly not with Higuain, so Dybala can focus on being creative and setting up plays.

And Khedira is a guy that never stays grounded, so you can say the only fixed midfielder was Lemina as a DM, while Pjanic, Khedira and Dybala were always roaming to create plays along with the wingbacks.

I just loved it. I think they are on the right path to make this a better team post Pogba, with more fluidity in the middle, more offensive roaming and a top finisher in Higuain, who can also contribute to build up, since he's very skilled. We really looked more European.

I hope we'll keep on this track.

My biggest concern now is Chiellini and Barzagli performances. Barzagli has seen a discrete drop of level in the last few matches, even though solid, but not the monster he normally is. And Chiellini is always up to being a monster and the best man on the pitch or to a fuckup day.

You love it, but it left the space between midfield and defense wide open.

Wake the fuck up Max, Jesus

Any non-Italian coach would have Pjanic and Sandro, maybe after that half also fucking Cuadrado in a front 3.

Amazing squad, yet most of our creative players get sacked for fucking Lemina or Evra. Ffs.
