He was terrific in Cagliari, excellent during his first 3 years in Milan, until their mgt suddenly stopped investing. Allegri for all the flack he's getting is actually very good tactician.

Why didn't he simply say Vidal will be staying 100% instead of we haven't spoken to anyone?

That gives the impression he could still leave if a big offer arrives.

Maybe he didn't want to dampen the mood of the Allegri unveiling and wanted to try and keep the fans optimistic?
