They don't mention he has any EU passport, they just say he might get a spanish passport, but in the maintime, some extra-EU should leave, and that would be... Appiah, with Pablo who might be coming.

Dont see the fuss about mascherano to be honest... looks fairly average, possibly a good prospect for the future though
