MASCH EYES JUVE MOVE

Javier Mascherano has confusingly insisted that he would "love" to stay at Liverpool but would "like" to leave for Juventus.

The Argentine midfielder looks likely to sign a pre-contract agreement with Juve to join the Serie A team in the summer after Liverpool failed to make a move.

The Reds' US owners will not sanction a £17m move for Mascherano, who has now admitted that he is flattered by interest from Juventus.

"I would love to stay here (in Liverpool). I have tried and I've adapted to the city very well," he told an Argentine radio station.

"But the clubs that are talking are also important and I would like to go."

So we would have Sissoko AND Mascherano?

Mascherano is great player but we already bought Sissoko and have Zanetti,Nocerino in that place.Seriously,if we need someone else in middle it should be AMC(van der vaart)

if we could get mascherano, i would drop zanetti and/or nocerino in a heartbeat.

four CM/DMs- mascherano, zanetti, sissoko, marchisio

i would rather nocerino than sissoko, but seeing as sissoko is almost a certainty to sign, nocerino would have to be sacrificed.

anyway, i doubt we'll get mascherano, so the starting pair next season would probably be sissoko-zanetti, although i'd like to see marchisio-zanetti.

Yeah like we will sign Mascherano after Sissoko, that could also mean that Sissoko will not adapt and we will sell him in June... oh wait, I just realised that is pretty possible knowing our board and how much they like to sell players only after 6 months.

I see Real syndrome in Juve. We are linked only with players who play at midfield and attacking area. I prefer or Sissoko or Mascherano but not both.

If Mascherano wants to come, we should make space for him, if it means he gets Gigli's parking spot. Mascherano is someone we can build the team around for the next...I don't know 6 - 8 years! He is worth every penny, as he would be our answer to Pirlo. Any upright mammal can be told to just destroy in the midfield next to him if we needed such player. Nocerino (it is obvious now) needs more time. Marchisio will probably not be "that much of an upgrade" (I know that's blasphemy here, but think about it), and we need results now... So that leaves us Zanetti, who will not be around for ever, and its a miracle he's still even effective, and Sissoko, who can work fine defensively for us for a year, but then we can sell him like that because he is young. On the other hand if he is our Rino-Gattuso-like destroyer with Pirlo-like Mascherano, so be it. If he develops, great.

But Mascherano should definitely be made a priority (I know we have other needs, but we need to build ground up).

I'd still go for Mascherano. He's not a typical DM, he's pretty capable of controlling the pitch and might be the kind of compromise Ranieri needs.

Perhaps a midfield like this next season:

Giovinco/VDV-Mascherano-Zanetti/Sissoko-Camoranesi

with Marchisio and Nocerino as needed.

The Argentine is undoubtedly one of the best defensive midfielders in world football, however his future at Liverpool is clouded in uncertainty.

Mascherano's contract is owned by the international fund of investors, Media Sports Investments (M.S.I), who are demanding €24m for their client to stay at Liverpool permanently.

The Anfield club's owners Tom Hicks and George Gillet are refusing to pay such a sum, thus making it inevitable that the player will leave the club.

However Mascherano has now admitted himself that he is keen to depart England.

"At Liverpool I have found my home. I am committed and I cannot complain about how the city has accepted me since I came here,” the 23-year-old told an Argentinean radio station.

“However I feel that now the time has come to move on. I would like to leave the Premiership. A move to Juventus? Well I like to travel.”

Mascherano’s agent Walter Tamer fuelled speculation yesterday when he admitted that his client was likely to be playing in Italy next season.

“Liverpool have not made any offer at all to buy Javier and it is likely that he will go to Italy next season," Tamer stated.

Juventus will complete the transfer of Momo Sissoko this Sunday for €13m, and it now seems possible that Mascherano could join him in Turin.

The Bianconeri fans have been bitterly opposed to Sissoko’s transfer, however they are likely to be much more open to the possibility of Mascherano moving.

It remains to be seen if Juve’s sports director Alessio Secco will listen to Mascherano’s hint of a come-and-get-me plea.

This is a no go. Liverpool will probably use the money they got from us to purchase the Argentine. We are indirectly strengthening Liverpool.
