I'd say Bonucci has made more costly errors (those leading to goal) than Chiellini. But Chiellini has been more error prone and is much less of a defender than he was a couple of seasons ago. Our only saving grace individually has been Barzagli and the fact that our defensive output has been much more than the sum of it's individual parts (having some really solid midfielders help).
He's not defender from a few years ago, ever since Euro 2012 he's never been quite the same, but he doesn't make costly errors or way less than Bon bon tends to make. That's why I and many others prefer Chiello, who even on his worst day can put in decent defensive shift.

Uruguay wasn't too deep, re-watch full replay, it was sturridge who owned 3 Uruguay players with back heel move on the right wing[/QUOTE]
Not too deep overall, but just to play an offside trap with Johnson in that position. You'd expect Caceres and the other central defender (not Godin, Gimenez?) to read it and come across to close the angle.

Also, for the record, he is, along with Lichtsteiner, the last of the Juve defenders still in the WC.

Forza caceras, I was concerned how this would affect him but no doubt total respect for him. If it wasnt for suarez and half a dozen others uruguay would actually have been a very like-able team.

Martin Caceres is reported to have been involved in another car accident, but has apparently emerged unscathed. The Juventus man has just been eliminated with his Uruguay teammates from the Round of 16 of the World Cup after defeat to Colombia.
Back in Montevideo, the full-back is reported as having crashed his car with another vehicle, but managed to emerge unscathed from the incident.
The driver of the other car is reported as having suffered 'some injuries’, in what is not the first accident involving Caceres.
